It is a known fact that Russia is the largest country in the world. Its territory is about one-eighth part of the world’s land populated by men. This country has huge natural and mineral resources. About 10 million people live in Moscow, the capital of my country and one of the biggest cities in the world.
People of different nationalities live on the territory of Russia. Russian is the state language. However, there are a lot of people speaking various dialects.
There are many rivers and lakes in Russia. There are more than 2 million rivers. The Volga is considered to be the longest river in Europe. It flows into the Caspian Sea – the largest lake.

The Golden ring cities The Golden ring of Russia - a group of tourist routes, passing by old Russian towns to the North-East from Moscow, in which there are unique monuments of history and culture of Russia, centres of folk crafts. The Golden ring cities belong to the six regions: Moscow, Vladimir, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Tver and Yaroslavl.
Moscow is famous for its historical and architectural monuments. The Red Square is the central and the most beautiful square in Moscow. It is the place of parades, meetings and demonstrations.
The heart of Moscow is the Kremlin. There is a wonderful architectural ensemble with three cathedrals , the Bell Tower Ivan the Great, palaces, fortress walls and twenty towers inside the Kremlin.
On the stone pedestal at the foot of the Bell Tower there is a Tsar-Bell – the largest bell in the world. Not far from it one can see a Tsar-Cannon.
Moscow is a scientific cultural centre with a lot of institutes, universities, libraries and museums. There are many cinemas, concert halls, theatres in Moscow, such as: the Bolshoi Theatre, the Art Theatre, the Maly Theatre, the Vakhtangov Theatre.

One Russian symbol is the Russian national flag. The stripes are white, blue and red. These colours have always been symbolic in Russia : white-noble and sincere, blue-honest and devoted-devoted to friends, family and to the country. The red colour has always meant love and bravery
The national emblem is – a two headed eagle. It is the most ancient symbol of Russia.
The hymn The hymn of Russia is a very solemn song, written by Mikhalkov and Alexandrov
