Урок английского языка "Be Polite"

На уроке развиваются навыки разговорной (монологической и диалогической) речи. В активной (игровой) форме отрабатывается структура условных предложений. Используются такие современные технологии как: ситуация успеха, сотрудничества. Коммуникативные задания учат учащихся быть воспитанными и вежливыми.

Описание разработки

Objectives: 

To develop speaking abilities

To teach pupils to use conditional sentences in making sentences and stories.

To teach pupils be polite at school and at home, be thoughtful about others.

Accessories: cards, posters , tape - recorder, grammar table

Procedure of the lesson:

Greeting

T - Nice to meet you  Ps - Nice to meet you

T - I am glad to see you                 Ps - We are glad to

T - Do you like English?                Ps - Surely we do

Warming up

1   T — Have you noticed the words when you entered the classroom?

What do these words ask you to do?

Ps - They ask us to be polite.

T - And what is the theme of our lesson today?

Ps - Ways to be polite.

2   T - What kind of people do we call polite people?

PI - If a person says "thank you" he is a polite man.

P2 - If a person says "good morning" he is a polite person

P3 - If a person does not interrupt talking people, he is a polite man.

3    T - Do you think you are polite?

Ps - Of course.

4. T - Today we'll check up and see if you are really polite or not. But first we'll revise Clauses of Time and Condition. We'll use them during the whole lesson. (Pupils look at the grammar table read the sentences point out the main clause and the subordinate clause, name the forms of the verbs in each of them. )

Ill Oral practice

1. T - Now let's remember Just chant "Have you been to Peru?" Stand up and talk to each other.

I've never been to Peru, have you?

Have you?

If I wake in Peru, I won't know what to do.

I've never been to Japan , have you?

Have you?

If I wake up in Japan, I won't know where I am

I've never been to L. A. , have you?

Have you?

T - Now listen to the musical variant of this Just Chant and then sing it.

T - It's high time to have a rest and tell a tale to each other. Read the text and put the verbs into the right places and in the right form.

(The pupils work in two groups, complete the story and retell it out - loud)

4. T - Are you ready to test yourselves? Read the questions and choose

the variant that suits you (At first pupils work individually, then read

their variants out - loud. )

1. If you meet one and the same person on the way to school during the whole year, you will

ONCE A UPON A TIME THERE LIVED A GIRL IN THE COUNTRY


WHO WANTED TO SEE THE HOUSE OF THREE BEARS. ONE

EARLY MORNING SHE STARTED TO THE FOREST. WHILE SHE

WAS WALKING SHE THOUGHT:

IF I THE BEARS' HOUSE I AT THE DOOR.

IF THERE NOBODY IN THE HOUSE I IN.

IF I THE KITCHEN I AT THE TABLE.

IF I THE TABLE I THEIR PORRIDGE.

IF I ENOUGH FOOD I ASLEEP.

BUT AS SOON AS THEY ME I

SUDDENLY SHE SAW A LITTLE BEAR IN THE; BUSHES AND

RUSHED HOME FRIGHTENED.

(The pupils work in two groups, complete the story and retell it out-loud)

4. T - Are you ready to test yourselves? Read the questions and choose
the variant that suits you (At first pupils work individually, then read
their variants out-loud.)

1. If you meet one and the same person on the way to school during the whole year, you will

a) begin to greet him/her

2. If you enter a small shop, post-office, you '11 -a) greet the workers b) keep silence

3. If you are in one end of the bus and suddenly see your friend in the other end of the bus, a)you'll shout at him b) nod

4.If you introduce a boy- friend and a girl-friend to your parents you'll begin with

5. If you enter school, shop, office and meet a grown - up you'll

a) push him away and enter

b) let him enter

6.If you enter the classroom

  1. you'll greet the classmates

  2. your classmates greet you

5. T -1 think the next tasks will prove again that you are polite children. So you have to read the beginning of the sentences and find the end of them on the sheets of paper, which are situated on the walls, door, book-case of the classroom.

6. Find the right answer on the poster. Circle: it. The quickest is the winner.

Teacher's questions are the following: l. What will you do if your friend invites you to go way from the lesson? 2. What will you do if your mother is tired? 3. What will you do if your friend is ill? 4. What will you do if a child is going to cross the street? 5. What will you do if your friend doesn't understand the rule?

The answers are following:

  1. I'll reject his idea

  2. I'll help her/him

  3. I'll cook dinner

  4. I'll visit him/her

  5. I'll explain him/her the rule

7. T- Do you think you know your friends well? Let's check up. One
of the pupils should go away from the classroom; The others should
listen to the situation and say how he or she will act in it and why you
think so.

The situation is the following: Imagine that you are in a museum. Your friend and you hear somebody talking very loud. Say how your friend will act.

  1. He'll just think it is not polite.

  2. He'll take no notice

  3. He'll ask him / her politely not to talk. ; The pupil returns , the teacher reads the situation to him .The

pupil says how he will act. The answers are compared.

IV. Home - task

T- You really proved today that you are polite children and I think you have the right to test other people. That's why your home task is: make a test or a situation to check up politeness of the people .

8. T- The lesson is over, but look at the poster on the door .What does
this poster ask you to do?

Ps - To be polite when we leave the classroom , that is everywhere.
