Цель:

-обобщить лексический и грамматический материал по данной теме,

-развивать навыки говорения,

-воспитывать у учащихся интерес к традициям и культуре США

ОБОРУДОВАНИЕ: карта и флаг США, фишки(в виде маленьких флагов США)за правильный ответ

Ход урока

І. Начало урока

1.Приветствие

- Good morning, boys and girls. I m glad to see you

2.Сообщение темы и цели урока.

- Today we are having a summary lesson about the USA. You have already  read many texts in your books, had a lot of additional information about this country, its cities, main holidays, nature sights and famous people. Now we shall play a game BRAIN RING. For this purpose we need 2 teams. Each team consists of 7 players and a captain. Each team has its own desk with a lamp on it. The teams will be given tasks. If the player knows the answer, the captain should turn on the lamp. Only then the player can answer. For each correct answer you will get 2 points. The jury will keep the score and define the winner of our game.Good luck and lets start.

1.Introduction of the teams

- Captains, introduce your teams, please. (Ученики делятся на 2 команды)

2. Quiz (вопросы задаются каждой команде)

- Where is the USA situated?

- What is the total area of the country?

- What oceans in the USA washed by?

- What gulfs in the country washed by?

- What are the highland regions in the USA?

- What is the capital of the USA?

-Where are the Five Great Lakes?

- What are the main rivers in the USA?

3. Warming-up

(ученики из каждой команды задают вопросы ученикам из другой команды)

4. Writing (команды за 1 минуту должны написать название рек и озер США)

5. Captains Contest(капитаны за жребием рассказывают про национальный флаг, гимн, герб США)

6. Snowballs(ученики каждой команды называют штаты)

7. Name the famous Sights (учитель показывает каждой команде картинку с достопримечательносями США,  а ученики должны отгадать, что на ней изображено)

8.American English (учитель называет слово на британском английском языке, а ученики угадывают это слово на американском английском языке)

KEY

Flat – apartment, holiday-vocation, film-movie, lift-elevator, sweets-candy, underground- subway, petrol-gas, garden-yard, chemist-drugstore

9. Name of holidays

(ученики называют праздники, которые отмечаются по всей стране)

KEY

New Year Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labour Day, Columbus Day, Election Day, Thanksgiving Day…

10. Tell some facts from the topic which impressed you most of all(по одному ученику по желанию)

III.Заключительная часть

Подведение итогов, выставление оценок.(жюри подводит итоги конкурса, называет команду победителей)
