John: With pleasure. It is not a large country, but it is a highly developed industrial country. There are no high mountains in England, no very long rivers and no very large forests. There are many towns in England. No town is very far from another. London is the biggest city in Britain. It is one of the most important cities in the world. There are many theatres, cinemas and museum. There are many beautiful old churches in London too. There are about 10 thousand streets, many old and new beautiful parks in the city. The centre of London is Trafalgar Square. Some people say it is the most beautiful place in London. And now I want to know about Russia and your town.

P1: Russia is the biggest country in the world. When it is morning at one end of the country, it is night at the other. It is hot in one place and it is cold in another. There are a lot of big cities and small towns and villages in our country. The peoples of Russia speak a lot of languages, but they can all speak Russian. We love our country.

P2: I will. Our town is not very big, but it is beautiful. there are a lot of factories, offices, institutes in Georgievsk. There are many beautiful shops and streets in our town. There are some churches too.

John: History is my favourite subject.
P1: Is there any garden in the yard of your school?
John: Yes, there is. The garden is in the yard of the school, behind it.
P2: Is there any stadium at your school?
John: Yes, there is a big stadium in the yard. We have our physical training lessons there in spring and sometimes in winter.
P3: What time do you go to school every morning?
John: Our lessons begin at 9 o`clock.
P4: How many lessons a day do you have?
John: We have five or six lessons a day.
P5: Do you wear the school uniform?
John: Yes, we do. The pupils wear a white blouse or a shirt and a blue skirt or trousers.
Teacher: John, tell us about the schools in England, please.
John: We go to the school five days a week. Each lesson lasted forty minutes. After four lessons we have a thirty-minute break. Schools in England have names, not numbers. They often get the names after the place where they are or after some famous people. In Great Britain school begins at the age of five. Many boys and girls usually leave school at the age of sixteen. Pupils usually begin their school year on the first Tuesday of September. The English think, that Monday is not a good day to start school. And what about your school?
P1: Our school is numberg. It is in Kirov street.
P2: Our school isn`t very large. It has three floors.
P3: It stands in a large yard. There is a garden in front of the school.
P4: More than 6 hundred pupils study at our school. We have a dining-room on the ground floor.
P5: On the ground floor we have the gymnasium, where we have physical training. The teacher`s room is on the ground floor too.
P6: Our lessons begin at 1 o`clock. We have five or six lessons a day. We like our school very much.
