Фрагмент урока разработан для группы учащихся 9 класса, возраст учащихся 15-16 лет.

Учебник: Spotlight 9, Module 5, Culture Corner 5.

Тема урока: Обучение чтению с полным пониманием содержания прочитанного текста. Изучающее чтение.

Цель: - совершенствование навыков чтения

- расширение лексического запаса по теме

- развитие навыков монологической речи

Задачи: - расширение кругозора, социокультурной компетенции

- научить учащихся извлекать информацию из текста

- контроль знаний лексики, грамматики, письменной и устной речи, умения

чтения с полным пониманием прочитанного.

Формы работы: работа в парах, индивидуальная работа, фронтальная работа с классом.

Методы работы: наглядные, демонстрация, упражнения, чтение про себя и вслух, монологическая речь.

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент.

Good morning, my dear students! I am glad to see you. How are you today?

Today we are going to read and speak about one famous person.

2. Предтекстовый этап

Can you guess about what person we are going to talk and read? (poet, actor, writer, actress, playwright…)

Look at these pictures. (Показываю классу несколько фото Уильяма Шекспира)

Do you know him?

(Students try to answer the following questions)

1) Who is this person?

2) What is he famous for?

3) Where was he born?

4) What did he do?

So, we are going to read an article about William Shakespeare, the English poet and playwright.

Read the title, please. “William Shakespeare (1564-1616)”

What do you expect to find out from the text? Have you any ideas? (students come up with ideas)

Before reading the text, look at the blackboard. Here are some words that help you to understand the article:

Predicting the content of a text (first reading)

Now look through the text and try to do this task.

Here are some answers to some questions:

William Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright.

He wrote plays.

His plays were about people in different situations. He wrote comedies, tragedies and historical plays.

Most of his plays were held in The Globe Theatre, in London. The people who attended the plays were from all social classes.

Find the sentences in which you can see this information. Read it and translate.

Who exactly was he?

What did Shakespeare write?

What were his plays about?

Where were his plays performed and who went to see them?

3. Текстовый этап.

Reading for specific information (second reading)

Read again and mark the sentences as T (True), F (False) or NS (Not stated).

Correct the false statements.

(Students read through the statements and underline the key words, read the text again and complete the task. And after that they read out the answers in class and check.)
