Welcome to Christmas Christmas - one of the most important Christian holidays. Its celebrated on 25 th of December . It is the yearly celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. This holiday means the beginning of the new year and the new life.

C o l o r s The traditional colors of Christmas decorations are red, green, and gold. Red symbolizes the blood of Jesus. Green symbolizes eternal life, and in particular the evergreen tree. Gold associated with the greatness.

The Advent Calendar Advent is the period before Christmas, which lasts 4 weeks. The Advent Calendar originated in the 19th Century from the protestant area of Germany. Protestant Christian families made a chalk line for every day in December until Christmas Eve. The first known Advent Calendar is for the advent of 1851.

The modern Christmas tree was developed in early modern Germany.   The first decorated trees were adorned with apples, white candy canes and pastries in the shapes of stars, hearts and flowers. Nowadays, we decorate the Christmas tree with colored balls, garlands, toys, candles and beads.
