Урок предназначен для закрепления пройденной лексики и пройденного материала, он поможет также развивать навыки чтения, работу по тексту.

Описание разработки

Цель:

 1) Закрепление пройденной лексики и пройденного материала.

 2) Развивать навыки чтения, работа по тексту.

 3) Развивать диалогическую речь, творческие способности учащихся.

 4) Привить любовь к английскому языку.

 5) Сопоставление традиций и культуры Великобритании и Казахстана.

 6) Развивать навыки аудирования.

Оборудование: карта Великобритании, флаги, символы, компьютеры.

Good morning, children! Sit down! Now, get ready for the lesson. As, you see there are some pictures. What country is described in these pictures? (Great Britain). Yes, it’s Great Britain, of course. And the theme of our lesson is ”Going to Britain”.

Revision of past materials.

Our first task. You have to revise some information about United Kingdom. Answer the questions:

  1. How many parts are there in the U. K?(There are 4 parts) Name them, please and show on the map. (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland)
  2. What is capital of England?(London)
  3. What is capital of Scotland?(Edinburgh)
  4. What is capital of Wales?( Cardiff)
  5. What is capital of Northern Ireland?(Belfast)

Each country has national symbol. Can you name them? (flag, national emblem, anthem)

As, you said each country has own flag but on this map there are some mistakes. You should correct these mistakes.

Do you know these symbols of these countries? ( Yes, of course)

  1. What is symbol of England? (the red rose) Put it on the map.
  2. What is symbol of Scotland? (the thistle)
  3. What is symbol of Wales? (the daffodil)
  4. What is symbol of Northern Ireland? (the red hand and shamrock)

Right you are! As I see, you have understood the last theme. And today well continue introducing with GB. But before we start our next task I want to divide you into 2 groups. Dina, Marzhan……. . will be group N 1. Lena, Valya…. will be group N 2.

Work with Vocabulary.

  1. Our next task is Consolidation of words. Open the task N1 of your computers. These are words for the 1st group and these are for 2nd group.

1) Analyze the definitions of these words.

2) Translate into Russian.

1st group

1. Currency - the system of money used in a particular country.

2. Skating rink - a place with an area of ice used for skating.

3. Ski base - a place in mountains where you can go in for sport of moving over snow on skis.

4. Dishes - food that has been prepared in particular way.

5. To be fond of - getting enjoyment and satisfaction from something that you do.

6. Folk songs - traditional song from a particular country.

2nd group

1. Currency - the system of money used in a particular country.

  2. Expensive - at high price.

  3. View - the ability to see something from particular place.

  4. Top - at or the highest part of something.

  5. Double - decker - a bus which has 2 floors.

  6. Hamburger - meat made with flake cakes and fired.

We have looked through our vocabulary. And now we may start to work with the text. But these texts are with gaps. Open task N3 of your computers. There are 2 different texts for two groups. But at first complete gaps in the text with vocabulary.

“Going to Kazakhstan” for the 1st group

    1. Mark visited Big Ben. He didn’t go to a department store, but he bought something to send home to Italy. He didn’t telephone home and he hadn’t any camera.

    2. Dieter went shopping. He didn’t go to Big Ben and Harrods. He had a mobile- phone, but he hadn’t any camera. He didn’t take a taxi.

    3. Omar went to visit Big Ben and he took a taxi to go there. He took his camera with him. He didn’t eat fish and chips. He didn’t go to shopping.

    4. Marisa ate something typically British. She didn’t go to Big Ben, but she visited a famous building in Knightsbridge. She took a bus to go there. She didn’t go to a department store. She hadn’t any mobile-phone.

    5. Deborah didn’t visit Big Ben or Harrods, but she went shopping. She bought some beautiful postcards. She hadn’t any mobile-phone.
