Цели : развитие умений аудирования с поиском информации, развитие умений чтения с поиском информации ,формирование навыков монологической речи.

Задачи: отработка лексических единиц по теме «Animals»,  знакомство с образованием сравнительной степени прилагательных, обучение использования сравнительной степени прилагательных по теме «Animals»

Good morning, students. Say ‘’Good morning ‘’ to our guests, please.

Let’s begin the lesson. Our topic is ‘’Wild about animals ‘’it means ‘’I like animals ‘’.

1. We can see how we like them.

(d. №29) Listen to the song, please and count animals. There are 8 of them.

Can you name them? - giraffe, monkey , dolphin, seal, lizard, whale , hippo, crocodile. Good.

You know the animals can be fierce, wild and dangerous like tigers. And can be domestic - they can live at home or on the farm as dogs and horses.

2. You know many animals. Please, choose the name of the animal for  your team. We can play the game. There are 2 teams. At first, team ‘’A’’  will answer and then team ‘’B’’. I’ll tell you the definition about animal,  I’ll describe it with many words and you’ll tell me only one word. For  example: a small nice animal which lives at home and likes milk. - a cat.

Is it clear?

1. 1. A large friendly sea animal that swims in groups and can play with children. - a dolphin 

2. 1. A very large animal that looks like a very large fish and lives in the sea and has a fountain of water on his back. - a whale.

A. 2. An animal that is like a small person but has a long tail and lives in trees. - a monkey.

B. 2. A tall African animal with a very long neck and very long legs and large brown spots. - a giraffe.

A. 3. An animal that has 4 short legs and skin like a snake. - a lizard.

B. 3. An animal with a thick coat that can swim and lives on cold sea coasts. - a seal.

A. 4. A large African animal with short legs and thick skin without hair   that lives near rivers. - a hippo.

B 4.  A large dangerous green animal with a long body , a hard skin, sharp  teeth which lives in rivers in hot countries. - a crocodile.

3. Another game: there are scrambled words on the blackboard. Your task is to guess about the correct word and write it. Which team will be the first to write all the words correctly will be the winner.

I see that you like animals.

4. Now we have to compare animals.

But at first look, please. I have got a big pen. Dima, give me , please, your pen. My pen is bigger than Dima’s pen. Do you understand ?

Open, please, your books at page 62 and look at the table.

Monkeys are small. Birds are smaller than monkeys.

При сравнении 2 - х людей, животных или предметов к прилагательному прибавляется –er.

Small - smaller, nice - nicer, funny - funnier, big - bigger, good - better, (irregular adjective - исключения)

Open, please, your copybooks. Write the date and classwork, copy, please, the rule.

5. Ex. 3 p. 62 - Look, read, say and write.

Whales are bigger than dolphins. Monkeys are cleverer than emus.

Giraffes are taller than elephants. Crocodiles are longer than lizards.

Hippos are fatter than seals.

6. The next task is to read about the whales and to answer the questions.

A Whale of Time means To Have a Great Time - (особенно приятное время. )

But before doing this exercise we are to revise the months of the year.

1. What are Grey Whales often called ? - They often called ‘’friendly whales’’.

2. Where are the whales from April till November ? - From April till November the whales stay in the called waters of the Arctic.
3. How many months do they stay in Mexico ? - From December to April - 5 months.

7. Can you be poets ? Let’s check.

Ex. 6 p. 63 - There are words which we have to write in the poem on your right. These words are about a bird which says Cuckoo. Do you know them ?

The Cuckoo comes in April

It sings its song in May.

In June it changes tune

And in July it flies away.
