Описание разработки

Цель урока: формирование ключевых языковых компетенций на уроке английского языка.

Задачи урока: Практическая:

– совершенствовать навыки УУД в развитии умений решения коммуникативной задачи с различной степенью сложности.

Образовательная:

– активизировать и совершенствовать актуальный словарный запас обучающихся.

Воспитательные:

– развивать настойчивость и умение преодолевать трудности для достижения намеченной цели;

– активизировать познавательную инициативу обучающихся и формировать их социальную компетентность.

Развивающие:

– содействовать установлению в сознании ребенка устойчивых связей между накопленным и новым опытом познавательной и практической деятельности;

– формировать и развивать учебно-организационные умения и навыки (взаимоконтроль, самостоятельная работа, коллективная деятельность);

– развивать способность к рефлексии, как важнейшей составляющей умения учиться.

Тип урока: урок комплексного применения знаний с использованием электронно-образовательных ресурсов.

Ход урока.

I. Org.moment. Greetings.

-Hello, boys and girls. I’m glad to see you. Take your seats, we’ll begin our lesson. Today at the lesson we’ll continue to speak about the place you live in. We’ll repeat some grammar and lexical material, we’ll do the crossword, we’ll sing the songs, read the text and do some interesting tasks.

II. Warm up.

So, to speak on our topic you should know the words well. The task will be the following:

Listen to me and guess the word (ex.1p.106)

- A thing where we keep our clothes (wardrobe);

- A thing that helps us to read when it is dark in the room (a standard lamp);

- Things which are usually on the windows (curtains);

- A thing in the kitchen to cook our food (cooker);

- A thing in the kitchen where we can wash cups and glasses (sink);

- A room in the house where you can do your homework (study);

- A place around, behind or in front of the house where flowers and fruit trees can grow (garden);

- A thing that we can see our faces in (mirror);

- A thing in the kitchen where we keep food (fridge);

- A thing where we keep cups, plates and glasses (cupboard).

III. Dictation (crossword)

I see that you know the words orally rather well, now I want to check how you can write them. You are to do the crossword.

IV. Grammar

1) To speak about the house or flat we should know the prepositions of place. These words help us to describe any place we want. So, boys and girls, let’s review the prepositions with the help of the song. (sing the song “In, on, under”). If our guests want they can join us.

2) Now let’s do some grammar tasks.

a) Look at the white board. Your task is to put the sentences into the proper place, read and translate them (Primary Grammar, Unit 1, Section 3).

b) Look at the white board once more and fill in the gaps.

V. Work on the text (ex.12 p. 103-104)

1) Read and translate the text.

At home you were to read the text “A letter from Africa”. It’s time to check up your home task and to know more about African houses.

(To read the text one by one)

2) Now I want to check how you’ve understood the text. Listen to my statements and say if they are true or false. If the statement is false don’t forget to give the right answer.

-Joe lives in a small house.

- There are three floors in his house.

- Joe’s room is downstairs.

- There is much furniture in his room.

- The wardrobe is in the corner of his room.

- Next to the wardrobe there is a sofa.

- Joe likes to read books sitting on the sofa.

- His parents’ room is under Joe’s bedroom.

- There is a kitchen next to the parents’ room.

- The family spends a lot of time in the living room.

- The family keeps the animals below the hall and the kitchen.

VI Speaking about the place you live in.

1) Did you like the story of Joe’s house? Now let’s speak about the place you live in. Answer my questions, please.

- Do you live in a house or in a flat?

- Is your house (flat) large or small?

- How many rooms are there in your house (flat)?

- Do you have the room of your own or share it with your brother or sister?

- Is there much furniture in your room?

- What is there in the corner of your room?

- Is there a bed or a sofa in your room?

- Is there a bookcase in your room? Where is it?

- Are there a lot of books in your bookcase?

- Is there a computer in your room? Where is it?

- Are there any pictures on the walls?

- Is there a carpet on the floor?

2) You know children our friends Ted and Tilly are moving in a new house. They have got a lot of different things to put in their house. Let’s help them to move.

(Presentation moving house)

What is it?

Where are you going to put it?

3) Ted and Tilly wanted to thank you and they sent me a photo of their room. Look at it and describe using words on our topic and prepositions of place. Let's do it all together, one by one.

4) Now it’s your turn to describe your room. Ted and Tilly are very interested what it is like (To ask 3-4 pupils).

VII. Home task.

It’s time for us to write down the home task. Open your record books and write down it, please.

At home you are to write a letter to Ted and Tilly about your room (10 sentences).

VIII. Singing a song “There is a room in my house”.

To review all we’ve learnt today let’s sing a song. Open your books on page 108.

IX. Final of the lesson.
