Тема урока: Allies of the USSR in the Second World War

Цель урока:

Обучающая: расширить и углубить знания учащихся о ходе второй мировой войны и участия в ней союзных войск США и Великобритании, познакомить с новой военной лексикой, работать над монологической речью, учить задавать вопросы по прослушанному, работать над слуховым восприятием иностранной речи

Деятельностная: учить работать в парах, извлекать информацию из высказывания выступающего.

Развивающая: воспитывать патриотизм, расширять кругозор, использовать метапредметные связи, развивать языковую догадку.

Образовательные ресурсы: проектор, компьютер

Ход урока

Организационный этап

  • Приветствие: Good morning! Nice to see you!

  • Вступительное слово учителя

Today we have an unusual lesson. It’s dedicated to the Great Patriotic War

which is a part of the Second World War. But before we start our lesson I’d like you to listen music that we associate with the war. The first sound of it reminds us about those tragic events in the beginning of the war. I think we should listen it standing. (звучит музыка) Thank you. Sit down please.

  • At dawn on June 22, 1941 the German Army with all the strength fell on Soviet soil. It was the beginning of the Great Patriotic War which lasted 1418 days and nights. The Soviet Union suffered greater losses among the civilians and military forces, than any other participants of the war. But without the assistance from the USA and Great Britain the result of the war might have been different. The opening of the second front was a great help for us.

  • Today some of your classmates prepared several reports about the participation of allies in the Second World War and their cooperation with the Red Army. Before we start listening I’d like you to learn some new words.

‘Unknown war’ The film was made by Isaak Kleinerman in 1978 . It’s a full encyclopedia of the Second World War. Your task is to find the answers to the questions. Let’s read the questions.

Подведение итогов урока



To sum up everything we’ve learned today I’d like to say that our ascenders were real heroes.

They fought enemies side by side. American, British and Russian soldiers gave their lives to the common cause. Nowadays we can see how our enormous contribution is being forgotten. Our participation in the war is revised. The western and the Ukrainian politicians are trying to transform the Soviet Army from liberation army to the army of conquerors. That is why we must study the history of the war really hard and be proud of our grandparent’s deeds.

Next lesson about the war will be in May, when our country will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Second World War. Your homework is to find the information about Yalta Conference and make presentations.
