Образовательные: закрепить употребление в речи лексических единиц по темам «School subjects», «School items», «Colours», «Family», «Parts of the Body», «Clothes», «Numbers», «Animals», «Professions»; закрепить употребление в речи глагола «be», закрепить образование всех типов предложений в Present Simple Tense.

The procedure of the lesson.

School subjects (конспект)

Now let’s unscramble the words: yellow, green, blue, black, pink.

In order to go to the next station you should answer my question:

- What is your name?

- My name is ___.

The second station is Maths.

At first, name the number and its colour. Don’t forget about the verb IS.

One is blue.

Two is green.

Three is red.

Four is yellow.

Five is black.

Six is white.

Seven is pink.

Eight is brown.

The third station is Literature.

Now look at the blackboard. Here is the letter from Bill. He lives in Great Britain. Let’s read it and answer my questions.

Hello! My name is Bill. I am from Great Britain. I am ten. I am a pupil. My favourite game is football. I like to sing and dance.

1. What is his name?

2. Where is he from?

3. How old is he?

4. Is he a pupil?

5. What is his favourite game?

6. What does he like to do?

In order to go to the next station you should answer my question:

- Where are you from?

- I am from Kazakhstan.

The fourth station is P. E.

Let’s have a rest and sing the song “Head and shoulders”. Touch the right parts of the body while singing.

The aims of the lesson:

Образовательные: закрепить употребление в речи лексических единиц по темам «School subjects», «School items», «Colours», «Family», «Parts of the Body», «Clothes», «Numbers», «Animals», «Professions»; закрепить употребление в речи глагола «be», закрепить образование всех типов предложений в Present Simple Tense.

Развивающие: развивать навыки разговорной речи, навыки и умение аудирования, развивать внимание, память, догадку учеников.

Воспитательные: воспитывать коммуникативную, развитую, общительную личность, вежливое отношение друг к другу.

Visual aids: cards, pictures, presentation, typescript with the songs “The Rules of the Classroom”, “School song” and “Parts of the body”

Today we go on talking about our school life. We will revise your school timetable and prepare for the test. But I have a surprise for you! Today we will travel to the country which is called “Magic Subjects”.


1) The stations in our Magic country will be your lessons. At first, let’s name them once more: Maths, Art, Nature Study, Literature, Russian, Kazakh, English, Handicraft, P.E., Music.


2) Now fill in the missing words in order to learn more about our Magic country:

School starts at _____ _________.

We go to school ____ days a week.

We have 5-6 _________ a day.

We have main __________ : Russian, Kazakh, Literature, Maths and Nature Study.

We also _____ Music, Art, English, P.E. and Handicraft.

3) In our Magic journey we will need different things. Look at the picture and advise Ted to take useful school items.

Divide into four groups. Your task is to fill in the missing letters:

The fifth station is Nature Study.

At first, let’s remember, what verbs help us to form questions. Yes, they are DO and DOES. DOES we use with singular nouns and DO with plurals.

Now look at the pictures, compose the questions and ask each other:

1) Does a cow live in the farm? Yes, it does.

2) Do cats live in the ocean? No, they don’t. They live at home.

3) Do dogs live at home? Yes, they do.

4) Does a crocodile live in the forest? No, it doesn’t. It lives in the zoo.

5) Does a parrot live in the sea? No, it doesn’t. It lives at home.

6) Does a fish live in the river? Yes, it does.

In order to go to the next station you should answer my question:

  • Do you have a pet?

  • Yes, I do/ No, I don’t.


The sixth station is Russian and Kazakh.

Now we will play with a ball. Stand up, please. Look at the pictures. One pupil names the profession in Russian and throws the ball to the second pupil. He names it in English and throws the ball to the third pupil. The third one names it in Kazakh.

Now I’ll read you a description of one animal. Try to draw it according to my words: It has got big round head, small eyes, big nose and small mouth. Its body is big and fat, but its legs are short. Its tail is short. It is pink. It is always dirty. What is it? It’s a pig!

In order to go to the last station you should answer my question:

  • What do you like to wear?

  • I like to wear ___

Our last station is Handicraft.

Look at the pictures. Here you can see Bob and Linda. Your task is to dress the boy or the girl.

  • He/she wear ________

But we are still at our Magic School. Now listen to the song “The Rules of the Classroom” and name the school rules which you’ve heard in it:
