| Warm up ( D, W) Culture notes The idea of this ‘river marathon’ race came from a 1987 charity event, in which the winners rowed a passenger boat along the River Thames. The aim is to find the UK ‘Traditional Boat’ champions. Each boat in the race must carry a passenger, and to make it more interesting, the slowest boats start first.
