1.R1 recognise initial letters in names and places,

1. S1 make basic personal statements and simple statements about object.

Lesson objectives

All learners will be able to:

  • understand and respond to short, basic supported and unsupported classroom instructions.

Most learners will be able to:

  • develop the ability to ask and answer questions using appropriate word stress and intonation in order to find out about a limited range of personal information and classroom routines..

  • Some learners will be able to:

Express themselves using basic modals.

Success criteria

Students will have succeeded in this class if they:

  1. To talk about Great Britain, Englishmen.

  2. Followed the instruction of the teacher immediately with support

  3. Say at least 2 sentences about the theme using adjectives correctly.

Good afternoon, children? I am glad to see you. Sit down please.

Who is on duty today? Who is absent today? What is the date today? What is the day of the week today?

What is the weather like? Is it frosty (sunny, snowy, slippery ) today?

Do you like such weather? Do you like more winter or summer?

Why don’t you like winter? Thank you! Sit down.

Let’s begin our lesson!

Do you know who the English are? Where do they live? They live mostly in Great Britain? What is their appearance? They are white; they are blue-eyed; they have blonde hair. How do you think what is their personality like?

Ok, if you think like that then look at the board! There is a picture. How do you think who these are?

Yes, you’re right! And can you say, what is their character? Let’s try to say in Kazakh.

Students one by one go to the blackboard and write the adjectives in Kazakh.

Good job! Now let’s write thee adjectives in English. Open your vocabularies and write down.

Now look how it will be in English.

My sister is more confident than me.

Aruzhan is shier than Assel.

What differences do you see in these sentences?

The adjective in the sentence is long. (3 syllables)

And the adjective in the second sentence is short. (1 syllable ending in -y)


Yes you are right. If the adjective is short we add the ending –er, and if the adjective is long we add the word more in comparative. Can you make up sentences with this rule? Let’s try.

You have to make up 4 sentences using 2 short and 2 long adjectives and describe each other.

* Groups make up sentences using the adjectives and compare each other.
