One of our classmates wrote a letter about our school. He likes chemistry classes. When he did chemical experiments, he dripped on the letter and some words disappeared.

Hi! I’m Ben Brown. I’m an English schoolboy.

My school is for boys. It is situated in London, England. It is an old secondary school. The school was founded in 1572. 

Pupils go to this school at the age of 13-18. Parents have to pay for education about

€ 42,000 a year. Boys study in classes of 12 people in modern classrooms. We have to wear a uniform: a white shirt, a black tie, grey trousers, black shoes, a blue sweater, a dark blue jacket.

We have three terms in the school year and three holidays. We study a lot of subjects: English, French, Latin, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, history, geography, art, music, religious education and computer studies. The best pupils at foreign languages can also learn Greek, Chinese, German or Spanish.

Most boys play different musical instruments such as piano, bagpipe and guitar, sing songs and paint. Boys can do any kind of sport: football, hockey, rugby, basketball, golf, cross-country running, riding a horse, polo, swimming, badminton, tennis and many others.

All students live in school hostels seven days a week. After classes and on weekends, we can walk around the city, visit theatres or cinemas.

We are proud of our school and its famous school-leavers:  

Winston Churchill, Robert Peel, Lord Byron, General Douglas Hamilton and
