20minutes | Pupil’s Books closed. Students match numbers 1-12 with their words. My Numbers poster is on the board. The students practice saying and write down the new numbers.
T writes a number on the board. Students name the number.
Pupil’s Books open. Students complete the missing numbers in Ex9.
What number am I? T explains the meaning of the words before and after. T says and writes on the board: Eight is before nine. Nine is after eight. Students do the activity orally.
How old are you? Draw candles on the cake. Then write. Students tell the class how old they are. Then the students draw that number of candles on the cake and complete the sentence. Students count the candles on their cake and read out the completed sentence. | To introduce new vocabulary

10minutes | Let’s sing! Teacher points to Lily and says: It’s Lily’s birthday! The students repeat after the teacher. Then all students sing Happy Birthday to you song.
Ending the lesson. Teacher tells the students that it’s her birthday and she wants ‘a present’ from them. They give their books, notebooks and pens to their teacher like a present wishing the teacher happy birthday. | Ice breaker
