Сообщение темы и цели урока.
T: Everything is really OK when your friend is with you. As for me, meeting with friends is always like a holiday. The words “holiday” and “friends” are often used together. We visit our friends on holidays. We send greeting cards to our friends. We buy presents for them on holidays. Do you agree with me?
Ps: Yes we do.
T: And do you celebrate holidays with your friends?
Ps: Yes sure.
T: By the way, what is your favourite holiday?
P1: New Year.
P2: My Birthday.
P3: Christmas.
T: Very well. But today we’ll speak about one more holiday, the name of which I haven’t heard from you now. You know it very well. The tradition to celebrate it came to Ukraine some years ago from Great Britain and some other countries.
Please, look at the multimedia board. The date of our lesson is the 14th of February. The theme is “A Нoliday of Friendship and Love”. Now try to decode the name of this holiday. The date, the theme and the ABC key on your sheets of paper will help you. Do you know how to use the ABC key?
Ps: Yes we do.
T: I’ll give you 1 minute to do this task.
(Дети расшифровывають название праздника)
T: Are you ready? Let’s check. Read it all together, please!
Ps: St. Valentine’s Day.
