Значение Past Perfect

Past Perfect обозначает действие, которое завершилось ДО определенного момента или другого действия в прошлом.

Слова-cпутники Past Perfect

by … o’clock – к … часам

He had done his homework by 7 o’clock.

by … - к …

He had done his homework by the evening.

by the time – к тому времени, как

He had done his homework by the time his mother came home .

He had done his homework by that time.

by that time - к тому времени

after – после того, как

After he had done his homework he went for a walk.

before – до того, как

He had done his homework before his mother came home .

When his mother came home he had already done his homework.

when smb did smth – когда кто-то что-то сделал

Exercise 1.Translate these sentences from English into Russian.

1. They had cleaned their room by 7 o’clock.

2. I had learnt to swim by the summer .

3. Ann had gone to the cinema by the time I phoned her.

4. After she had done her homework she went to the park.

5. Before he came home mother had already made dinner.

Exercise 2. Put the verbs in the Past Perfect tense. Example: I …(finish) the exercise by that time. I had finished the exercise by that time
