Theme: Countries And Nationalities

Objectives: 

To get new information about the places and peoples of the world .

To learn new lexical units.

To develop pronunciation, speaking, reading and listening skills.

To revise the grammar rules: The Definite and Zero article in the geographical names and the verb ‘to be’ in Present Simple.

To encourage interest for learning English

Aids:  магнітофон, диск з англійськими піснями, роздатковий матеріал для групової роботи та роботи в парах, презентація,  портфоліо.

Level: Elementary (the third form)          

Procedure

I. Introduction.

Hello, Neighbor!

Hello, neighbor. (Wave to partner.)

What do you say? (Give high five.)

It's going to be a Happy day.

(Slap, clap, tap hands)

Greet your neighbor. (Shake hands.)

Boogie on down. (Wiggle hips.)

Give a bump, (Bump hips)

And turn around. (Turn around.)

2. Warming-Up

We are countries of the world,

Some are big, some are small.

Some are near, some are far apart -

But we similar at heart.

Chine, Canada and Japan,

T: On the blackboard you can see the flags of some countries. Look at a flag and name the country, please. Then go to the blackboard, write the name of the country and spell it.

T: People of different nationalities live in these countries. You’ll name the country and I’ll name the nationality:

3. група – Russia, Japan  – слайд 15

4. група –Germany, France – слайд 16

5. Гра “I Know Five Names of …” – слайд 17
