1.Greetings.

Good morning! Stand up and stand straight.

Sit down, please. Let’s start our lesson. Who’s on duty today?

What day is today? Is anybody absent? Nobody is absent ( someone is absent)


2.Objectives:

  • to practice reading;

  • to practice listening;

  • to practice using words related to this topic in the speech;

  • to review the grammar structures;

  • to practice speaking.


3. Warm-up activities.

Our study at college.


We are cadets of Troitsk aviation technical college. In the first year all the students of our college study the same general educational subjects. They are Russian, Literature, English, sciences ( Physics, Maths, Chemistry), Information technology, social science, History. We also get physical training. We have lectures, practice and do laboratory works. The students also have optional subjects.

We study English at our college. We have English classes once or twice a week. At our lessons we read and translate texts, write exercises, speak English. We usually translate sentences from English into Russian and from Russian into English. We use computer, listen and repeat tapes after the speaker. At home we learn new words and expressions. When we translate texts we use English -Russian dictionaries. We copy new words into our vocabularies. We learn grammar rules too. Every student has a textbook, an exercise-book and a pen.

We are in the classroom now. The walls of our classroom are white, the floor is brown. There are two windows and twelve desks in the classroom. There is a blackboard on the wall. There is a teacher’s desk near the blackboard. There are some pictures on the wall. In the corner of the classroom there is a bookcase. Fifteen students are sitting at their desks.

I like to study English. It is interesting and useful. I want to become a computer programmer. It is necessary to know English for good specialists.
