Talismans of the Games were two characters, personifying the flora and fauna of Brazil. The mascot of the Olympic Games Vinisius has a yellow color and symbolizes the brightest and most widespread representatives of the animal kingdom of Brazil, combining "cat's flexibility, agility of monkey, grace of birds". The character of the Paralympic Games Tom has become a collective image of the Brazilian flora, in its features you can learn both the elements of the tree and the elements of the flower. Talismans received their names in honor of the Brazilian musicians of the XX century Vinicius de Morais (1913-1980) and Tom Jobim (1927-1994), who stood at the origins of the style of Bosanova.

• The Summer Olympics 2016 - the 31st Summer Olympic Games Games that took place from 5 to 21 August in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Olympic football tournament started two days before the opening ceremony, before all other competitions, and was held also in other cities of the country - Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Manaus, Salvador and São Paulo.

This was the first Olympic Games taking place in South America, the second in Latin America after the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City and the first since 2000, taking place in the southern hemisphere. At the Olympics, a record number of medals (306) was played and a record number of countries (206) participated, including for the first time Kosovo and Southern Sudan.
