As I see it, at present young people are not as healthy as they used to be. My arguments for this point of view are listed as follows. First of all, teenagers eat plenty of genetically modified and junk food, which is definitely harmful for their health. Besides, they often smoke, drink alcohol and take drugs, which leads to serious diseases. Furthermore, lots of teenagers are addicted to TV, computers and numerous gadgets, namely mobile phones, I-Pads and others. They watch TV, surf the Internet, play computer games all day long instead of walking or doing sport. As a result, a lot of young people are overweight and suffer from heart diseases.

There is another side to the issue of young people’s health. Some people consider that it is steadily improving due to modern health care and better nutrition. For instance, there are a great number of sport facilities such as swimming pools, sport clubs, fitness centers, skating rinks, football pitches and resort houses, clinics and hospitals with updated equipment. Needless to say, currently various kinds of food is available. Lastly, young people do not die today of such diseases as pneumonia and tuberculosis.

Regardless of these convincing arguments, I strongly believe that teenagers’ health is definitely getting worse. First and foremost, they breathe polluted air, consume polluted water and food with a good number of harmful additives. What is more, they ignore their parents’ advice to eat proper food and not skip meals. For this reason, it causes poor nutrition. A further negative aspect is that not all people can afford to join sport clubs since they are rather expensive. Finally, we must admit that today we are threatened by such incurable diseases as AIDS and hepatitis although medical service is considered to be on high level.

To conclude/To summarize, I would say that both opinions have the right to exist/Both views have their followers. It is my firm conviction,…….To my way of thinking, my opinion is more reasonable/sensible.

In conclusion, I would say that both opinions have the right to exist. It is my firm conviction, that the health of a young generation is under threat. To my way of thinking, our society should pay more attention to the health of a younger generation for it is the basis of our future development.
