The theme: Numerals.

The goals:

Educational – to introduce a new part of speech; to form the ability to recognize numerals; to teach to use them in speech; to teach to talk about the things belonging to someone.

Education of spirit – to develop interest and respect in using of numerals and possessive case.

Education as development – to develop pupils’ cognitive skills, an ability to guess, to analyze, to improve their memory, attention, imagination, logical thinking and quick-wittedness.

I. Организационный этап




Фонетическая зарядка

Good morning, boys and girls! Nice to meet you. How many pupils are absent today?

How many pupils are present?

What words do you use to answer my questions? (Числа) For what do we use numbers? (Children may answer in Russian. We use numbers to count people or things; put things in order; identify people or things) Which types of numerals do you know? (cardinal and ordinal / количественные и порядковые) I suppose you have already realized what the topic of our lesson is. What is it? (The topic is “Numerals”)

For what do we use cardinal numbers? Children may answer in Russian. (They are used to count things.) You are right. Cardinal numbers tell us "how many." Provide your own examples, please.

For what do we use ordinal numbers? Children may answer in Russian. (Ordinal numbers are used to tell the order of things.) Good. They tell us “which one” or show level or position in a group. Provide your own examples, please.

II. Этап тренировки






  1. Write the necessary numerals.


  1. Read the sentences and determine the type of numeral.








The break






Now pay attention to the seventh sentence from the previous task. How can we translate the first word group? ( Tom’s name – Имя Тома) What combination is this? (Притяжательный падеж) Yes, the combination of apostrophe and “s” is called “possessive case”. You must first call the person who owns the object, add the ending `s, and then call the object. Provide your own examples.


  1. Write on the model. (Gr. Book p.36 ex.161)

Numerals: ten, three, six, five, eight, twelve, nine, two, four, one.


Sentences:

  1. She has got three brothers.

  2. I buy five cakes.

  3. The third text is interesting.

  4. Two men are in the room.

  5. I like the second book.

  6. The fifth song is funny.

  7. Tom’s name is the seventh in the list.

III. Коммуникативный этап


  1. Now look at the picture and tell what this girl has using the possessive case.


In the possessive case of the plural nouns “s” isn’t written.


  1. Now look at the task in your Grammar books. (p. 38, ex. 165) Read and translate.

So, today we remembered the numerals and the possessive case and trained to use them in our speech.
