Описание разработки

Used to всегда употребляется с инфинитивом глагола.

I used to see my family         

Раньше я виделся со своей семьей

every day.      

каждый день.

Used to используется для описания каких-то прошлых привычек или регу­лярных   занятий, которые теперь уже не имеют места.

I used to live on a farm,        

Раньше я жил на ферме,

but now I live in a big city,    

а сейчас я живу в большом городе.

I used to ride a bike  

Я, бывало, ездил на велосипеде

every day,      

каждый день,

but now I have car.   

а сейчас у меня есть машина.

I didn't use to like cheese,     

Раньше я не любил сыр,
but I like it now.       

а сейчас люблю.

Did you use to know a girl    

Вы были знакомы с девушкой
called Katie?  

по имени Кэти?

I used to,       

Был, раньше,

but I don't know her anymore,  

но мы больше не видимся.

Глагол to use         

Это правильный глагол со значением «пользоваться, использовать что-либо».

I use toothpaste         

Я пользуюсь зубной пастой

every day.      

каждый день.

I used your product    Я пользовался вашим продуктом

for a month,   

втечение месяца,

but it didn't work.     

но он мне не помог.

То miss something/    

Этот оборот употребляется, когда вы хотите сказать, что вам   чего-либо

somebody/   

нехватает, недостает.

скучать по кому-то/        

I like my new school,

Мне нравится моя новая школа,

but I miss my friends.

I used to live in the countryside

Раньше я жил в сельской местности,
and I miss it.  

и теперь я скучаю по ней.

I.Прослушайте упражнение целиком и повторите каждую фразу, подражая

I miss my family.       

Now I live in a big city.

I used to see them every weekend.

II. Pronunciation  Used  and    use.     

Note: Обратите внимание, что в глаголе to use/used (пользовать- ся) произносится звонкий [z] — [ju:z]/used [ju:zd].

В обороте used to/раньше, бывало произносится глухой звук /s/ jju:s]/[ju:st].

Произнесите предложения. Обратите внимание на разное произношение  глаголов!

I used to love football, but now I love basketball.  

Did you use to work in the London Hilton?

I didn't use to like cricket, but now I really love it. 

III.    Use or used to? Complete the sentences with the right form of the verb.

I  live in France.

He never his car. He always takes the bus.

He be a farmer.

A farmer a plough to prepare a field.

IV.  Complete the sentences with the right form. Used to, didn't use to or did you use to?

Get used to something/ To get used to употребляется с существительным, местоимением или глаголом привыкнуть в -ing-форме, чтобы описать процесс привыкания к чему-либо,к чему-либо

Глагол to get

I always get hungry

She gets angry           

Она злится (сердится),

if I don't call every week,

Не gets angry

if he gets home late.

У глагола to get есть еще одно значение — «получить, достать».
I got a new job.

Форма Past Simple глагола to get - got.

Причастие прошедшего времени — тоже   got.

I'm used to driving on the left.

I had to get used to the food.           

I'm used to driving slowly.

II.  Pronunciation

I had to get used to watching cricket.          

Did you get used to English food?

It was difficult to get used to watching cricket.      

I didn't get used to English food.

But I got used to watching cricket.  

I'm still not used to English food.

And now I'm used to it.        

As a matter of fact, I prefer my mother's cooking

As a matter of fact, I prefer cricket to baseball.      

to English cooking.

B 5   Two Americans are talking about life in Britain. Complete this conversation with the correct form of get used to and be used to.

A. What was the most difficult thing to 1... in Britain?

Mary was born in a village in the North East of England in the 1920's. In those days there wasn't much to do if you were a girl. You could become a nurse, a teacher or a secretary. Mary became a teacher and she taught at the local school. She taught one class and she taught all the subjects. Mary enjoyed her life as a teacher but in the 1960's they closed her school and opened a big new school in the town. Mary had to get used to a lot of things. She had to get used to working in a big school, a thousand students and lots of teachers. She had to get used to teaching one subject, not lots of sub­jects. She had to get used to not being the boss. There was a school Head teacher and she told Mary what to do.

Now, Mary's used to all this. But one thing she never got used to. In her local school she was used to walking to school every day. When her local school closed she had to get used to travelling by bus or train to school. She never got used to that. Now Mary has retired and she coaches children at home. Once again she is teaching all the subjects. She's used to that.
