One Week-end of a teenager…
made by K. Zaborskich, school 16, Kirov 2016
The problem of how to spend a week-end is very important and very serious for many teenagers. In many cases we want to spend these days with our friends and classmates. But where can we go ? How to spend the week-ends so that to get knowledge , to have fun and to see something new…
The suggestion is to spend one week-end in Kungur ice cave.
The ice cave is one of the most popular places in Russia. It is the unique cave. Its length is 5700 km, tourists can see 1500 km. The cave has 58 grottoes and 70 lakes.
The ice cave has been known since 1703. Many scientists learnt that place, made its plans, described its lakes… A. T. Khlebnikov was the first «keeper» of the cave. He organized the first excursions in 1914-1951 and studied the ice cave.
Tourists can visit only 21 grottoes in the cave. One of them is called «Brilliant Grotto» , and it is one of the most beautiful places in the cave. The grotto is covered by crystals and it seems that these are the brilliants on the stones.
There are more than 60 lakes in the ice cave. All of them are connected with each other. Every January people can dip in the water of these lakes.
Besides the ice cave, one can visit Ermak village, which is situated near Kungur ice cave. There we see the way of living of Russian families many centuries ago: household articles, clothes, furniture…
Near the village there is a wooden «town», where everyone can play, run, take a photo and so on…
One of my week-ends was in Kungur. It was unusual, it gave me new knowledge and unforgettable impression.
Not all of my classmates visited Kungur with us, and this work will be translated into Russian and they`ll see it too.
Thank you!
