Good morning, students

- How are you?

- Who is on duty today?

- What day is it today?

- Who is absent?

Now, before we start our lesson I want you to come to the blackboard. In my hands there are some sweets. You should choose one you like best. Ok, now I divide you into two groups. Who chose blue sweets will be the first group, who chose orange sweets you are the second group. Take your places.

Now, we must choose the leader of the group. On your table there is a self - assessment paper. At the end of the lesson the leaders should give the marks to their group - mates. Try to be fair.

What kind of cafes or restaurants are there in our city?
Before we start reading about British cafes and restaurants let’s find out what are the differences and similarities of cafes and restaurants in Kazakhstan. Let’s complete the Venn diagram.
But in Britain cafes and restaurants have a lot of differences and very few similarities.
I’ve got two descriptions let’s read them and find out what place does it describe.
1. It is mostly used on special occasions like birthday or wedding anniversaries. It’s especially popular among aristocracy or business people because the company pays the bill! You can eat Chinese, Indian, French, Italian and also British food in it.

It is used for everyday purpose. You can have any meal in it. It’s comparatively cheap and offers a filling meal, a menu for all tastes and an informal atmosphere.

As we have said before the restaurants in Britain can be Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Italian and so on. The atmosphere is formal. People celebrate weddings, birthdays there. Businessmen meet their partners there. And the restaurants are expensive.
Cafes may be in the building and out, in the streets. The atmosphere is informal. People go to the cafes to chat, to meet their friends, to have breakfast, lunch, or dinner. And the cafes are cheaper than the restaurants.
And also we are going to read about another place for eating out. It is Fast Food Restaurants. Open your books on page 77 ex. 12. First listen to me. Then read.
