Theme of the project

I AM VERY PROUD TO LIVE IN CHEREMKHOVO, IT’S MY NATIVE LAND AND I LIKE IT VERY MUCH.

MY TOWN HAS GOT A GREAT HISTORY AND A LOT OF TRADITIONS.

It’s a flag and a coat of arms of Cheremkhovo. We can see a stone of coal that is a symbol of our town because there always were mines and open- mines that produced tons of coal for the industrial needs of our country.

MY FIRST WORD IS ABOUT MY TOWN AND I COULDN’T BE SILENT WITH YOU CHEREMKHOVO IS MY FAVOURITE TOWN

AND A LOT OF BIRD CHERRY TREES

BLOSSOM EVERY SPRING AS A WHITE BEAUTIFUL QUEEN!

О ТЕБЕ МОЕ ПЕРВОЕ СЛОВО, О ТЕБЕ ПРОМОЛЧАТЬ Я НЕ МОГ, ЧЕРЕМХОВО МОЕ! ЧЕРЕМХОВО! НАШ ШАХТЕРСКИЙ ПРОСТОЙ ГОРОДОК!

CHEREMKHOVO WAS FOUNDED AS A SMALL POST STATION ON THE MOSCOW - IRKUTSK WAY IN 1772.

CHEREMKHOVO WAS NAMED AFTER THE SMALL RIVER CHEREMSHANKA THAT WAS FLOWN THROUGH THE VILLAGE. IT WAS A VERY NICE PLACE WHERE THERE WERE A LOT OF BUSHES OF BIRD CHERRY THAT’S WHY IT’S DRAWN ON THE TOWN EMBLEM .

CHEREMKHOVO GOT A STATUS OF THE TOWN IN 1917.

• Since that time it was developed and became a center of the coal industry in Irkutsk region.

A lot of people work on the coal open – mine “Cheremkhovsky”.

CHEREMKHOVO IS SITUATED NOT FAR FROM IRKUTSK AT THE DISTANCE OF 132 KM AND ITS TERRITORY IS ABOUT TEN KILOMETERS.

THE RAILWAY STATION

The population of our town is about 55 thousand people. There are 11 kindergartens, 17 secondary schools, a center of education, Art and Musical schools.

IT’S MY SCHOOL NUMBER 8. AND THERE IS A MONUMENT TO A.S. PUSHKIN, A GREAT RUSSIAN POET. MY SCHOOL IS NAMED AFTER HIM. WE ALWAYS HAVE MANY INTERESTING HOLIDAYS WHERE THE PUPILS OF OUR SCHOOL RECITE NICE POEMS WRITTEN BY THIS FAMOUS RUSSIAN POET.

The memorial “Honor to heroes”

is devoted to those soldiers who gave their life for our future, for our happy life.

During the years of Great Patriotic War the citizens of our town collected money for building 3 tank columns that were on the fields of the war.

The names of 5,000 people from our town are written on the memorial walls. They were brave and courageously fought against German army in 1941-1945.

Also there are a lot of people who heroically worked on the factories and plants of our town in that hard time.

THERE ARE A LOT OF PLACES OF INTEREST IN CHEREMKHOVO

There is a Drama theatre in our town.

We have such a beautiful opportunity to attend it every weekend and watch interesting and exciting fairy tales and comedies.

I like it very much and my family goes to the theatre very often.

It’s rather small but I like it very much because it’s my Motherland!
