1. Организационный момент.

2. Целевая установка.

Today we’ll learn how to speak about your neighborhood and the ways of helping the environment around you.

First, we’ll learn some new words using the associations, then we’ll read the texts and you will speak about the topic.

3. Речевая разминка.

It is our responsibilities, not ourselves, that we should take seriously.

4. Введение лексики.

Let’s learn the new words using the associations:

бетон – concrete (Конь бежит по бетонной дороге на остров Крит)

мусорная свалка – landfill (земля, заполненная мусором)

парниковый газ – greenhouse gas (зеленый дом с газом)

загрязнитель воздуха – pollutant (полутень на луне от выхлопных газов автомобиля)

охранять, оберегать – preserve (охранники получают призы)

Запоминают слова через ассоциации

5. Аудирование. (Восприятие на слух).

Close your eyes, listen to the music and think of your neighborhood on Monday morning. What can you see, smell or hear? How does the scene make you feel?

Слушают текст, рассказывают, что видели, слышали и ощущали.

Suggested Answer Key

I see children rushing to the bus stop, deliveries being dropped off at the local stores

and people rushing about to get to work.

I smell bread baking in the local bakery.

I hear lots of noise from the traffic in the streets.

I feel alert and tense as the busy day is about to

begin, etc.

6. Интенсивное чтение.

Open the books at p.23

Look at the leaflet. What is it about?

Agree with you.

Now, you will work in 3 groups. Each group reads the texts. Mark the unknown words using the pencils, look them in the dictionaries and remember them using the associations. Then read the texts again and translate them.

Can you list some ways of making your neighbourhood greener?

The leaflet is about helping the environment.

Its purpose is to get the local community to do something to improve the area.

Работают в группах:

Просматривают текст, вычеркивают незнакомые слова, запоминают их методом ассоциаций, повторно читают тексты, переводят, знакомят с новыми ассоциациями.
