William Shakespeare (1564-1616) William Shakespeare was a great English playwright, dramatist and poet who lived during the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. Shakespeare is considered to be the greatest playwright of all time. No other writer's plays have been produced so many times or read so widely in so many countries as his.(37 plays, many books and poems)

Isaac Newton (1642-1727)  Was an English physicist and mathematician.He is widely recognized as one of the most influential scientists of all time and as a key figure in the scientific revolution.

Daniel Defoe (1660-1731) Daniel Defoe received education in Newington Academy. He studied Latin, Greek, and later perfected his knowledge during shopping trips to Europe. His first works Defoe wrote in the form of pamphlets. Defoe has been called the father of modern journalism; during his lifetime he was associated with 26 periodicals. However, the most glorified biography of D. Defoe, thanks to its novel «Robinson Crusoe».

Horatio Nelson(1758-1805) Lord Nelson is the symbol of the nation. He is a British naval commander famous for his numerous victories that made him a national hero. He was one of those men who served their country best during the Great War with France. In his final battle at Cape Trafalgar in 1805 Lord Nelson was mortally wounded. After his state funeral he was buried in the crypt of St.Paul’s Cathedral .On the column in the center of Trafalgar Square there is a statue to Admiral Nelson.

Charles Darwin (1809-1882)   A British scientist who laid the foundations of the theory of evolution and transformed the way we think about the natural world.   Darwin was awarded with numerous awards by academic societies of Great Britain and other European countries.

Margaret Thatcher, the 71-st Prime minister of Great Britain the first and the only woman to hold that title. She was known as the "Iron Lady" for her uncompromising style. All in all, Margaret Thatcher won three elections. She was the longest continuously serving prime minister since 1827. In 1992 Queen Elisabeth II granted her with the title of a baroness. She died at the age of 87.
