– Hello, boys and girls! My name is Bobby.

Once upon a time a king and a queen had a beautiful baby girl after many years of their marriage. They gave a wonderful party for the new princess. They also invited seven good fairies to bless the baby-girl.

– You will be beautiful! (Said the first fairy)

– You will be clever!

– You will be kind-hearted, my dear!

– You will sing well!

– You will dance well!

– You will be happy!

The seventh fairy was about to bless the baby when suddenly an evil fairy entered the room.

She wasn’t invited, so she was very angry. She cursed the baby:

– On your sixteenth birthday you will die when you touch the spindle of the spinning wheel!

Everyone was shocked to hear this.
Then the seventh fairy said in a sad voice:

– I can only change the curse. The girl won’t die! She will fall asleep for one hundred years. The whole kingdom will sleep with her! Then a prince will kiss her and she will wake up!

After the party the king ordered his soldiers to burn all the spinning wheels in the country.

On her sixteenth birthday the princess happily moved around the castle when suddenly she found a secret room. There she saw an old woman with a spinning wheel. The woman invited the princess to learn to spin.

In a hurry the princess pricked her finger and at once fell asleep for one hundred years. The fairies took her to the bed and laid her on it.

Everyone in the kingdom also fell asleep.

A magic forest grew around the castle.

A hundred years went by.

One day a brave prince went into the castle. He found the sleeping princess. She was so beautiful that he fell in love with her. The prince kissed the princess. At once the princess opened her eyes and was happy to see the handsome prince.
The prince and the princess married and lived happily ever after.
