Цели урока:

1. Образовательные цели:

• формировать умение читать текст с извлечением конкретной информации;

• развивать навыки устной речи (ответы на вопросы, выражение собственного мнения);

• расширить словарный запас по теме “Cinema & Cartoons”

• повторить и закрепить употребление времени Past Simple;

• расширить словарный запас по теме «Кино. Биография».

2. Развивающие цели:

• развивать критическое мышление;

• совершенствовать навыки аудирования и умения угадывать по описанию;

• развивать память и внимание.

3. Воспитательные цели:

• формировать интерес к мировой культуре на примере жизни и творчества Walt Disney;

• повышать мотивацию к изучению английского языка;

• воспитывать умение работать в команде и уважать мнение других.

Оборудование:

• Раздаточный материал (текст «Walt Disney», карточки с заданиями);

• Презентация (фотографии Диснея и его персонажей);

• Карточки с героями мультфильмов;

• Проектор / интерактивная доска;

• Монитор, колонки для просмотра видео;

1. Начало занятия

1.1. Организационный момент

Teacher: Good afternoon, dear pupils! I am glad to see you here. How are you? Are you fine? / Are you ok? We have today an unusual lesson because we have guests in our classroom today. I hope our lesson will be interesting for you and you will be active today and will work hard!

Please, be polite, attentive and show our guests how well you can work in English.

Teacher: Let’s start! Before we start our lesson, I would like you watch a short video. Please watch it carefully and try to guess what we are going to speak about today.

Teacher: So, what do you think? What are we going to speak about today?

(ученики предлагают свои варианты:

о мультфильмах, об Уолте Диснее, и героях его мультфильмов и т.д.)

Teacher: Yes, you are right! Today we are going to speak about a very famous person — Walt Disney, the creator of many wonderful cartoons and characters.

Teacher: During our lesson we will:

• learn some new words

• read and discuss a text

• answer questions

• play a quiz about Disney characters.

Teacher: And now let’s read the text about Walt Disney and translate the text.

Walt Disney

Walt Disney was a famous American film producer and artist. He made many cartoons and movies for children and adults. He won 26 Academy Awards. This is a record. He created many popular characters, films and theme parks in the 20^th century.

He was born in 1901 in Chicago. As a child, he loved drawing. When he was ten years old, he became interested in theatre and cinema. At school, he drew cartoons for the school newspaper.

Later, Disney moved to Hollywood because he wanted to be more successful. He created a cartoon character based on a pet mouse he once had. He gave the mouse a voice and a funny personality. His wife named the character Mickey Mouse. By 1930, Mickey Mouse became very popular all over the world.

After that, Disney created other famous characters like Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto. In 1938, his animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was a big success. Later, he made more films, for example Fantasia and Bambi.

Disney also built a famous theme park called Disneyland. Today, people from all over the world visit it. Walt Disney died of cancer in 1966, but his films and characters are still popular today.
