Цілі уроку:

Пізнавальний аспект - знайомство зі столицею Великобританії , її пам'ятками.

Розвиваючий аспект - розвиток здатності до здогаду , комунікабельності , здатність здійснювати репродуктивні і продуктивні мовні дії.

Виховний аспект - виховання шанобливого , толерантного ставлення до чужої культури.

Навчальний аспект - формування лексичних навичок читання та говоріння , розвиток уміння читати з метою повного розуміння інформації.

Супутні завдання - вдосконалення досвіду роботи з комп'ютером , з інтерактивною дошкою.

Оснащення уроку: комп'ютери ( для індивідуальної роботи ) , інтерактивна дошка , підключення до Інтернет.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am glad to see you at our lesson, dedicated to the most famous sightseeings of London. . .

 I think the famous TV program help us. What program is it? Can you guess?

 To be sincere, it was quite difficult for us to select the material for the lesson. The fact is that we have learned a lot about London, its past and present, its places of interest. Keeping in mind that the English try to do almost everything according to their traditions we have decided to go to the most traditionally visited places.

Thought, of course, it’s just only a small part of what can be seen in London.

So, London is waiting for us!

Remember, during our trip you will be meet by different guides.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, we have to choose the kind of transport we’d like to travel by. In London we can use the Underground (the tube, as the Londoners call it), a taxi, a bus. What kind of transport would you prefer? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - All right. Let’s take a cab.

If somebody gets lost he will find the group at the Sherlok Holmes Museum, our last place of destination. As for me, I’ll be waiting for you here, in the classroom. Have a good time. Oh, the cab is coming, all aboard!

 We’ll speak about the reasons for traveling abroad, about the best way to see Britain; we’ll get some information about the places of interests in London.

I think a lot of people all over the world are fond of traveling. Do you like traveling? Modern life is impossible without travelling. Every day thousands of people travel either on business or for pleasure.

listen to a dialogue and make up our own ones

T: And now let’s play a game “Agree or Disagree”. You already know a lot about London. Listen to the sentences and be attentive. Repeat the statement if you agree with me and correct it if you disagree.

T:It's time to countinius our sightseeing tour and learn as much as possible about the London's places of interest. Some of you will be the guides to help us to make an excursion. There is some information about the London sights. You will read it and I  shall show you the photos in order  you can see them with your own eyes . Because as our today's motto says it's better to see something once than hear about it many times.





P1: On the bank of the River Thames you can see the Houses of Parliament. It is also called the Palace of Westminster. Now it is the seat of the British Parliament. The Houses of Parliament have two towers: the Clock Tower “Big Ben” and the Victoria Tower with the British flag on the top. Big Ben is really a big bell.



P2: Buckingham Palace is the place where British kings and queens live when they are in London. Important visitors often go to the Palace and meet Queen Elizabeth and the royal family. A lot of tourists come to Buckingham Palace every day to see the Changing of the Guards.




P3: Trafalgar Square is the center of modern London. The Nelson’s Column stands in the middle of it. There are also two large fountains here. Many Londoners and tourists like to have a rest here and enjoy the sight. The National Gallery is not far from here.


P4: The Tower of London is the oldest monument in London. It has a long and cruel history. It is a group of buildings: the White Tower, the oldest part of the Tower of London, and the Bloody Tower which has a history of blood. Now it is a museum of armour.




P5: Westminster Abbey is a symbol of England. It was built in 1065. The coronation of all British Kings and Queens takes place here. Some famous English people are also buried here.



P6: Tower Bridge was built in 1894. It is one of the famous bridges across the Thames. It is next to the Tower of London. You can also see Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament from Westminster Bridge. It opens and ships go up and down the River Thames.

Tourists in London always want to visit Westminster and see Big Ben. They want to see the clock in its tower and to hear the bells. Big Ben is really a bell/ You hear it every hour. It is a big bell. It weighs 13,720 kilograms. It has a deep tone and you can hear it on the radio: “This is the BBC/ The time is six o’ clock.” And then you hear the deep boom of the Big Ben six times).
