Good morning! How are you? Do you know what we’ll speak about? Our theme is food. We’ll speak about what people eat, what kind of food is useful.

Warm up

Now you’ll tell me what you like to eat and when you have meal.

How many times do you have meal?

What do usually eat?

What is your favorite dish?

What kind of food do you think useful?

Checking up home task. Last lesson you got the task. Who tell me which was it?

Phonetic drills. New lexis.

Look at the blackboard, please. You see new words in the table. Write them down into your notebooks. Now, let’s pronounce them together. At first, I pronounce the word and then you repeat after me.

Now let’s translate this words. You should guess which word what means. If you have difficult I’ll help you. Now choose two words and make up two sentences with them.

My name’s Betty and this is my husband, Phil. We both work in offices in London. We have breakfast at half past seven. We don’t have a big breakfast, because we have to go to work. We usually have toast, coffee and orange juice.

For lunch we usually have a salad or soup and a sandwich. That’s about 1.30.

We have dinner at about half past seven, it’s the big meal of the day and we have meat or fish with vegetables and potatoes, pasta or rice. We have fruit or ice cream for dessert. We have a glass of wine with the meal. On Sunday evenings we usually go to a restaurant for dinner at about eight o’clock. We both like Chinese and Italian food.

I’m Roy and this is my wife, Joan. We live on a farm, so we have to get up early, at about 5.30. we start the day with a big breakfast - bacon, sausages and eggs, with tomatoes and mushrooms. We have toast, too, and two or three cups of tea.

Our big meal of the day is lunch at 12 o’clock. We have meat potatoes and vegetables, then a big pudding, such as apple pie and custard, and a cup of tea.

At five o’clock we have tea. That’s a light meal – eggs, perhaps, or cheese on toast, and then cakes or biscuits and another cup of tea. On Friday and Saturdays we go to the pub in the evening and have a few pints of beer.

There are some statements to every texts. Look at them and compare. Tell me which of them are true or which are false.

Assign homework and tasks

Your home task is to write mini-composition about your favourite food. You should describe what do you like to eat? Haw many times do you eat? If your food is useful or not? What should people eat to feel good?
