The aims of the lesson:

1. Educational: Training reading and speaking drills doing different tasks. To teach pupils to work in groups. To educate the interest of the pupils to sport.

2. Developing: To develop the knowledge of pupils reading and speaking skills.

3. Up-bringing: To bring up feeling of kindness respect-ness to the book, to the lesson and to the teacher.

I. Introduction.

Organization moment:

  • Good morning! How are you? Sit down.

  • Who is on duty today?

  • What day in a week today?

  • What date is it today?

  • Good morning, boys and girls. I am very glad to see you. You look fine today.

II. Phonetic drill «Sport»(fill in the poem and read)

III. Checking -up the hometask.(17 мин)

At first I’ll check up your home task. Now, children let’s check up your homework. Your home task was to

- What was your home task? Are you ready?

- Our hometask is to retell about Kazakhstan and make up a dialogue

Let’s revise unit “My country” and let’s check your home task about our country. Students introduce the Kazakhstan.

P1- The Republic of Kazakhstan is situated in Central Asia. The area of Kazakhstan is about 3 mln square km. It’s population is about 16 mln people. The population lives mostly in cities and towns.


P2- Kazakhstan Is an extremely beautiful country/ There are the majestic Zailiysky Alatau Mountains, the beautiful lakes and rivers: the Irttysh, the Syrdaria, and Amurdaria, Aral sea and Kaspian sea and the endless steppes.


P3- There are a lot of picturesque places like Kolzhai, Bayanaul and others. Borovoe – is one of the natural miracles of the planet.


P4- Kazakh is the official language of the country. Russian and other languages are spoken here too. Kazakhstan is multinational country.


P5- Kazakhstan borders China, Russian Federation, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzia. There is a long border cost line on the Caspian sea. There are a few rivers and lakes in Kazakhstan.


P6- The flora and fauna of the country are different. They depend on the climate of the country. They are richer in the south and poorer in the north. The climate of Kazakhstan is strongly continental. It is cold in winter and hot in summer.


P7- There are many big cities and small towns in the Republic. The largest cities of Kazakhstan Are Almaty, Karaganda, Shimkent, Astana…..

Today we`ll speak about sports. Listen and be attentive. I`ll ask you some questions. First think then speak. Let`s begin. (слайд)

- What kind of sport do you like (enjoy)?

Pupil 1: I enjoy football.

Pupil 2: I enjoy basketball.

Pupil 3: I enjoy volleyball.

Pupil 4: I enjoy swimming.

Good for you, I see that all of you enjoy sport very much. So my 2-nd question is:

- What kinds of sport are popular with children?

(Many kinds of sport are popular with children football, basketball, badminton, swimming, athletics, gymnastics, skiing, skating and some others).

- What summer sports do you know?

(Summer sports are: football, badminton, swimming, and athletics).

-What wither sports do you know?

(Winter sports are: hockey, figure skating, skiing, skating, biathlon).

-Are you a sport fan?

(Yes, I am a football fan).

- Do you go in for sports?

(Yes, I go in for volleyball).

-Why do you go in for sports?

(I go in for sports because I want to be healthy, active and strong).

-Very good. Yes, sport helps you to be healthy and strong.

Sport is an important part of our life First of all, sport builds character. It teaches to win. It makes you strong fast besides it teaches you about life and it is a good you to meet people even from countries. But you must a good sportsman for that.


V. Pre – listening task. Working with the new words

VI. Presentation of grammar

Today we have a new grammatical theme: Present Simple Tense  

Осы шақ — әңгіме болып жатқан шақта болып жатқан оқиғалар мен іс-әрекеттерді сипаттайтын, күнделікті өмірде істейтін әрекеттерді сипаттайтын етістіктің шағы. Ағылшын тілінде осы шақтың 4 түрі бар (қазақ тілінде осы шақтың 2 түрі бар: ауыспалы осы шақ, нақ осы шақ):

1. Present simple (ауыспалы осы шақ);

2. Present continuous немесе Present progressive (нақ осы шақ немесе созылыңқы осы шақ);

3. Present perfect simple (аяқталған осы шақ);

4. Present perfect continuous (аяқталған нақ осы шақ).

Жоғарыда атағанымдай екі тілдегі осы шақтың түрлері әр түрлі болып келеді. Қазақ тілі мен ағылшын тілінде сәйкес келетіндері: ауыспалы осы шақ (Present simple) пен нақ осы шақ (Present continuous). Бұл сабағымызда ағылшын тіліндегі осы шақтың осы алғашқы түріне тоқталамыз.

«Present simple» тіркесін қазақшаға сөзбе-сөз аударатын болсақ, «жай осы шақ» деген мағына шығады. Жай осы шақ дегеніміз қазақ тілі грамматикасындағы ауыспалы осы шақ. Мысалы: ойнаймын, оқимын, келеміз, жүзесің, ойланады, …

Present Simple Tense (Қазіргі осы шақ) – етістігі әдеттегідей, әдетте қайталанып тұрушы белгілі бір уақыт-мезгілді білдірмейтін, жалпы іс-әрекетті білдіреді.

Мысалы:
I live in Almaty – Мен Алматыда тұрамын. (әрдайымғы жасау жері, сондықтан әдеттегі іс-қимыл)
We get up at 7 o’clock – Біз таңертең сағат 7де оянамыз. (әрқашан, әркүні бір уақытта, яғни сағат 7де тұратынын білдіріп тұр)

Осы шақтың көмекші етістігі do/ does [du/ dz].

Жіктеу есімдіктеріне көмекші етістіктің қолданылуы:

Do not = don’t Does not = doesn’t

Осы шақтың жасалу формасына назар аударайық

Болымды сөйлем: зат есім + етістік + - s /- es

Болымсыз сөйлем: зат есім + do/ does + not + етістік

Сұраулы сөйлем: Do/ Does + зат есім + етістік?

Егер сөйлем He/She/It - тан басталса, тек қана болымды сөйлемде негізгі етістікке - s немесе - es жұрнағы жалғанады. Ал қалған болымсыз және сұраулы сөйлемде есімдіктен кейін «does» көмекші етістігін қолданған кезде, негізгі етістіктің соңындағы - s немесе - es жұрнағы жалғанбайды.

Мысалы: She reads an interesting book

VII. Presentation of new theme:

- Ok, pupils today we have a new text ‘Sport in Kazakhstan  and GB’ I’ll give you text lists.

T: We’ll work in groups. There are 2 groups in the class and the task of 1st group will tell us about sport in Kazakhstan the and the task of 2nd group will tell us sport in Great Britain. Ok. I give you 10 minutes. Let’s begin.

Sport in Kazakhstan 
Sport helps people to stay in a good shape, keeps them fit, healthy and makes them more organized, better disciplined in their daily activities and energetic.
Many sports are popular in Kazakhstan. They are: football, tennis, hockey, weight-lifting, track and field, basketball, volleyball, boxing, judo and carate, cross-country skiing, figure skating, climbing mountains, horse-racing. 
All these sports have their strong supporters and fans. Thousands of people go to the stadium to support their favourite team and many thousands more watch the game on TV. For many people sport is the main form of entertainment. The people in the Republic of Kazakhstan are not only sports fans. They take an active part in all sports and sports activities, professional and amateur.
There are different sporting societies and amateur clubs in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Some of them constantly take part in different international tournaments. Football clubs Kairat (Almaty) and Vostok (Oskemen) are well-known to their fans. Kazakhstani sportsmen have won a great number of world records in gymnastics, judo, wrestling, athletics.
International and national matches attract many fans. Some most important games and sport events are transmitted over the radio. 

Sport in Britain 

In Britain, forty per cent of the population regulary play a sport. There are many differences between sport in Britain in and other countries. For example , skiing is not very popular in Britain as there are not many mountains. Skiing can in certain parts of Scotland or they go to Austria, Italy, France or Switzerland. Basketball and volleyball are not very popular in Britain, bur many people play rugby. The British play many sports that are unknown in most other countries, for example: criket, squash and netball.
Cricket is a typically British sport which foreigners have difficulty in understanding. There are two teams of eleven players. Matches last from one to five days. Many people think it is a slow and boring game, but it can be very exciting and rather dangerous. 
Squash is another British invention. It is form of tennis.There are two players and they use rackets similar to tennis rackets and a small, black rubber ball. They play indoors. It is a very fast and tiring sport.
Netball is similеr to basketball . There are seven players (usually girls or women ) in each team and the object of the game is the same as in basketball : to throw the ball throut a net at the top of a three – metre post. 

Questions for groups:

2. What sports are popular in Kazakhstan? 

3. Where can amateurs go in for sports? 

II group:

What sports are popular in Britain? Cricket, rugby, squash netball 
How many players have in netball? 7 players

VIII. Consolidation.

1. Name the different sports.What sport we can…  PLAY ?   GO ? DO ? (cлайд) 

- Now, look at the screen and say the names of different sports.


Do judo/karate/aerobics/wrestling/weight training/athletics

Play squash/bowling/ping pong/basketball/badminton

Go swimming/skating/skiing.


People go in for different sports. When we speak about sports what verbs do we use – do, play, go or ride? think 2 minutes

- So, look at the pictures. Look at the card, read the sport and imagine them and their definitions. What sport do you see? Picture №1 .....Choose the definitions of the sport. Who was start? Who is the next?

2. skating b. is played by two or four with a ball


3. badminton c. a game in which the players use rackets to hit a small object called a shuttlecock over a high net

4. boxing d. can only be done by two

5. gymnastics e. is derived from Greek word that means “to exercise naked”.

6. basketball f. is done on ice

7. tennis g. is a team sport

8. volleyball h. A game played between two teams of eleven players

9. skiing i. A game in which 2 teams of five players each try to score goals by throwing a large ball through a net fixed to a metal ring at each end of the court. The players bounce the ball while running, and pass it to each other.

10. hockey j. A game in which 2 teams hit a large ball with their hands, backwards and over a high net. The ball is not allowed to bounce on the ground

IX. Conclusion 

- So, children, our lesson is going to an end, I think that it was a very useful lesson for you and for me. We have understood that it’s very important to go in for sports. But let’s sum up; answer the main question of our lesson: Why do the people go in for sports? (слайд)

- The people go in for sports because they want to be strong.

- The people go in for sports if they want to be healthy and wealthy.

- The people go in for sports when they want to be in a good shape. Become famous, have a good time, lose weight-арықтау, get rid of stress, earn money, have a good time, make friends
