  1. Educational: to learn to use the past simple and talk about dinosaurs.

  2. Developing: to develop the habits and skills of speech, reading, listening,  writing and logical thinking.

  3. Teaching: developing the pupils’ interest in learning of foreign language.

  Objectives: SWBAT practice using the past simple, to complete the sentences and  read the text, listen to and repeat, choose the correct answers, put the sentences in logical correct order and talk about dinosaurs.

  Items needed: a tape - recorder, CD, cards, table and chart, test, pictures;

P r о c e d u r e

I. Greeting / Duty’s report

  Aim giving: Today we are going to talk about dinosaurs.

  The theme of our lesson is “Dinosaur data”.

  Today we are going to use the past simple, to complete the sentences and read the text, listen to and repeat, choose the correct answers, put the sentences in logical correct order and talk about dinosaur data.

 II. Warm up:

 1. Listening Ex. 1 p. 20 Listen, point and repeat

  2. Game “Domino”   (work in groups)

  3. Listening Ex. 2 p. 20 Listen and read.

  4. Speaking Ex. 2 p. 20 Role play the dialogue

  III. Presentation:

 1. Listening Ex. 2. p. 24 Text “Dinosaur data”

Choose the correct answers.

4. Put the sentences in logical correct order. (work in groups)

Five sentences for each group:

Task for the first group:

Dinosaurs lived on Earth for millions years.

There were more than 700 different types of dinosaurs.

Some dinosaurs ate plants and others ate meat.

Some walked on two legs and some walked on four legs.

Some could fly and others lived in the sea.

Task for the second group:

The most famous dinosaur is the T-Rex.

It was 14metres long and 5.5m high: bigger than a house.

Its strong tail helped it move quickly.

But no one knows how fast it could run.

Its teeth were 36centimetres long and ate meat.

5. . Speaking What do you know about dinosaurs ? Pupils’ answers.
