Bashkiria honey is rich in taste variations. There are steppe varieties, and there are mountain varieties. Here they also collect meadow honey, forest and various grasses. The most popular types of Bashkir honey are flower, buckwheat and linden. Bortnichestvo as a folk craft has flourished in the territory of modern Bashkortostan since ancient times. Rock carvings found in the caves of the Burzyansky district indicate that in these places honey was extracted by primitive people.
