Mikhailov Pokrovsky female monastery

• In the summer of 1999, Pokrovsky monastery opened its doors after 180 years of destruction. After some time monastic life slowly started on the Black mountain. In 2001 a wooden Church in honour of the Holy virgin was built, which immediately improved the daily liturgical life.

For nearly nine decades, this factory not only contributes to the preservation of old traditions of lace-making, but also creates new ones. The exhibitions present a variety of panels, gorgeous table cloths, napkins, paths of different shapes and colours. Mikhaylov lace differs from the others primarily by the fact that there is no flower, vegetable and animal motifs that are prevalent in other parts of Russia. Pattern lace, rigorous and geometric have been the basis of this unique kind of art and craft.

A monument to Archangel Michael in Mikhailov

Through the efforts of ordinary citizens a monument to the heavenly patron of the city — the Archangel Michael was madeon the Cathedral hill in Mikhailov . The idea of a unified cultural-historical complex is owned to the initiative group of people of Mikhailov. Together with the activists of the club "Archangel Michael" and the staff of the historical Museum they presented a project that aims to transform the urban landscape into an attractive tourist attraction. "The place is chosen not casually. It was here, at the top of Cathedral mountain the temple of Archangel Michael was built many years ago. Here the icon of the patron Saintwas found , who gave the name to the settlement. We can say that hence the life of our city began."

The Church of the Nativity of the blessed Virgin Mary

• In 1799 a wooden Church in honour of the Nativity of the blessed Virgin Mary was mentioned for the first time. Then the church was reconstructed and made from stone. It is the oldest church in the town.

Taxable Hut

• Among the preserved monuments of ancient Mikhailov, special attention is attracted to a rare example of civil architecture of the early XVIII century, the so-called "hut Tax" or the old Treasury. The humble appearance of the monument of features of Russian Baroque architecture combined with details of old Russian architecture.
