Описание разработки

Цели:

to encourage real use of language in group and pair work;

to check students` ability in using the words covered in the situation “Animals”.

Ход урока

– Today we have got an unusual lesson. We will talk about our favorite animals and pets.

There are a lot of animals all over the world who live in different continents and countries.

Task 1

Give the definition of the words which are written on the blackboard.

Animal

Pet

Wild animal

Domestic animal

Task 2

Talk about animals on the picture . Answer the following questions:

How many animals are there on the picture?

Which animals are there?

Which animals have got wings?

What is your favorite domestic animal?

What is your favorite wild animal?

Task 3

The following exercises are given to revise topical vocabulary and grammar structures “The first animal is…”, “It can …”.

Card 1: students should tick what the animals can do. Personal work

Task 4

Students should listen to the disk about different animals` voices. Guess what they are. Work in groups.

Task 5

Students should tell the group about their favorite pets using pictures of their own (pictures are prepared before the lesson).

Example:

My favorite pet is a hamster. His name is Lonzo. He is very clever. He can run and understand commands. He is my best friend…

Task 6

Song “Old Macdonald had a farm”

Students should listen to the song  two times and write out names of domestic animals from this song.

Task 7

Sing this song together!

Text of the song is prepared before the lesson.
