Данный материал расширяет знания изучающих английский язык по теме "Степени сравнения прилагательных". Содержание выходит за рамки школьной программы, поэтому его следует использовать на дополнительных занятиях или в процессе подготовки к ЕГЭ.

Степени сравнения прилагательных делают речь более выразительной, позволяя передавать различные оттенки смысла высказывания. Кроме того, они демонстрируют владение различными речевыми стратегиями, например, стратегии уклонения от прямолинейности высказывания (understatement/overstatement).

Мы можем усилить значение сравнительной степени прилагательных, чтобы подчеркнуть значительную разницу между объектами, с помощью слов much, a lot, far.

Чтобы подчеркнуть отличия объектов друг от друга, также употребляются слова completely, totally.

Незначительное отличие передаётся с помощью слов slightly, a bit, a little, not much.

Отсутствие разницы между объектами выражается через слова exactly, more or less, roughly.

Изменение значения превосходной степени прилагательных/Superlatives

Для усиления превосходной степени прилагательных применяются слова by far, clearly, easily.

Для снижения значения превосходной степени используются слова among, one of, some of.
