Тема: School Uniform

Цель урока: Развить навыки поискового чтения и письменной речи.

Задачи урока:

• расширять общекультурный кругозор обучающихся посредством знакомства их с различными источниками информации;

• развивать навыки говорения, умения адекватно использовать речевые средства для решения коммуникативных задач;

• совершенствовать умения представлять результаты групповой работы, комментируя происходящее на картинке;

• развивать умения работать в парах, в группе.

Оборудование: проектор, компьютер, интернет, ноутбук, цветные карандаши.

Ход урока:

1. Организационный момент

-Good morning, students!

St: Good morning!

-How are you?

St: I’m fine, thanks. How are you?

- I’m fine, thanks. I’m glad to see you. Sit down, please. Let’s start our lesson.

2. Целеполагание

- Look at the screen and try to guess our theme.

St: -School uniform.

• Yes, you are right. Today we will talk about school uniforms in different countries and try to create your project of school uniform.

3. Совершенствование навыков аудирования.

- But now let’s watch the video to learn some opinions according to the problem. (смотрят видео)

 School uniform is an integral part of school life in many countries. Most schools in Russia also require school uniform. However, some school accept freestyle outfit. There are different opinions on how the standard school form should look like. Also there are many arguments about school uniform. Do you think that the students may have their own style? What is your attitude to the school uniform? What school uniform would you like to wear?

In order to answer these questions let’s do the task.

4. Совершенствование навыков поискового чтения.

- Read the task. Is it clear for you?

St: - Yes.

• Ok. First of all I want you to read the information about images of school uniforms in different countries. I give you 5 min.

5. Совершенствование навыков говорения.

• Are you ready?

St:- Yes. We are ready.

• Answer my questions. What units of clothes do students prefer most of all for school uniform in different countries?

St: - I think students prefer to wear: a suit, a dress, a blouse and a T-shirt.

• What colors are more often used for school uniforms?

St: - Blue, white, brown and even green and red are more often used for school uniforms.

• What country’s school uniform do you like best of all? And why?

St: - I like school uniform in Indonesia because it is so bright and modern.

• Ok, and what about you?

St: - As for me I like school uniform in Brazil because it is colorful and unusual.

• Thank you. Do you know what your parents, school uniform looks like?

St: - Yes I know my mum wore a dress and an apron.

St: - My dad wore a costume, a tie and a T-shirt.

• Thank you for your answers. And what is your attitude to school uniform? To answer this question I suggest you to make ex 43 on p. 20. Are you ready?

St: - I am ready. I think, school uniform prevents children to be individuality. All are alike. One more, every day one and the same clothes. By the end of the school year it becomes untidy and not pleasant to look at.

St: - Firstly, the school uniform has strictness which makes children study at school more seriously. Secondly, school uniform makes children more disciplined. More than that it isn`t very expensive. And every family can afford to buy it. More over, school uniform removes social inequality because both rich and poor children wear the same clothes.

St: - All school uniform has advantages and disadvantages, but as for me personally I vote for the school uniform because I presume it convenient for pupils and there is no such a question what to put on in the morning.

6. Тренировка навыков работы в группах.

- I understand you are not against school uniform. I suggest you to make an ideal school uniform for students. Girls will make for boys and boys for girls.

7. Активизация навыков монологической речи.

- Are you ready?

St: - Yes

• Who would like to be the first? You are welcome, girls!

St: - We want our boys to wear a costume. We think a costume makes men more disciplined and serious. Also we think that the tie is necessary. But we can imagine our boys in long grey or black trousers, a white shirt, a jumper or a sweater. Black shoes only.

- You are welcome, boys!

St: - We want to see our girls beautiful and bright every day. But it is impossible because at school we must be serious. That is why we think that girls must wear a dress. It may be grey or black colour. Also they can wear a black skirt, a line or pleated, of a length of no more than 2 centimeters above the knee or black tailored trousers. They can wear the skirt with a T-shirt or a vest.
