Anthem.

TT:As you know we are going to celebrate the Independence

Day of Kazakhstan. On the sixteenth of December 1991 a

Declaration about the independence of Kazakhstan was

adopted. 22 years have passed since that memorable date.

Now our country has its own flag, anthem, the state

emblem, traditions and holidays.

TT: Everyone knows well what events happened in Almaty

in December 1986. Kazakh youth went out to the central

square to show their protest against the administrative

system. Such sons and daughters of Kazakh nation as

Kairat Ryskulbekov , Lyazzat Asanova headed the peaceful

demonstration . The agreement of Kolbin as the head of the

Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic was the reason of this

demonstration.

TT: The weather was cold that day. It was snowing. Hundreds

of young Kazakh people went out to the streets of Almaty

but the central outhority was against them policemen,

firemen and soldiers used their power.

The demonstration of youth

“We are for freedom!”, “Live, Kazakhstan!”, “Real Leader-

for each country!” (One girl) My people! How long will we

be being offended! We have no power to protect our Land,

our Language! We are against imperialistic system! Where

are our heroes? (One boy)We are against yesterday govern-

ment decision! We fight for our rights in peaceful way!

TT: 25 years have passed. During these years of Independence many things had been done for life of our country.

1. On the sixteenth of December 1991 a Declaration about the

Independence of Kazakhstan was adopted.

1. On the second of December 1991 was the first president

of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev .

1. On the second of October 1991 first cosmonaut Toktar

Aubakirov flew into space.

1. On the second of March 1992 our Republic of Kazakhstan was the member of UN.

2. On the fourth of June 1992 were adopted state symbols.

The state flag. The sun as the symbol of peace is depected against a blue background. You can see the eagle -the symbol of freedom under the sun. There is a traditional Kazakh ornament on the left. The state emblem. There is “Shanyrak”-a circle on the top of yurta in the centre of the state emblem on the blue back-ground. Its two beams lying across symbolize the four parts of the world. The sun rays are spreading all around the shanyrak. The mythological horses – “Tulpars” complete the ensemble. There is a star on the top of the emblem and the inscription “Kazakhstan” below. The state emblem is made in gold and blue colours.

1. On November 1993 was our national currency put into circulation.

2. On the twentieth of May 1998 Astana was the capital of our country. Astana was founded in 1830 in the steppes of Sary Arka. In 1832 -1961 the city was called Akmolinsk and when the development of virgin lands started in the Soviet Union it was renamed into Tselinograd. After Kazakhstan had gained the Independence, a decision was made to replace the capital. So now Kazakhstan has a new capital and the city has a new name – Astana. Astana is the center of political life of Kazakhstan. Residence of President, the Parliament and the Government are located here.
