Тема урока: «Добро пожаловать в Великобританию»

Цель урока: формирование новых знаний по теме урока

Задачи урока:

• развитие коммуникативных умений;

• развитие умений выделять основную мысль в воспринимаемом на слух тексте.

• обучение ведению диалога-расспроса;

• овладение новыми лексическими единицами;

• реализация приобретенных знаний;

• развитие социокультурной компетенции через знакомство учащихся с культурой страны изучаемого языка; знакомство с традициями и обычаями стран Соединенного Королевства.

• развитие памяти, мышления.

Тип урока: урок формирования новых знаний (3-я четверть, 13-й урок)

Методы обучения: объяснительно-иллюстративный, частично поисковый, исследовательский

Оборудование: учебник 5 класса автор Кузовлев В. П., рабочие тетради, компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, интерактивный экран, презентация в Power Point по теме “The UK”

Оформление доски: надписи с новыми словами по теме.

Ход урока

1. Организация начала урока. Постановка цели.

У: Good morning, boys and girls! Glad to see you. As I know, you like travelling. Let’s all together make a short journey to one of the European countries. Today we are going to have our trip to Great Britain and learn some facts about this country. After our trip you will do one test, so you must listen to me very attentively.

1. Систематизация знаний учащихся, подготовка к восприятию новой информации

Let’s open our books on page 183. Read the question № 1. Please look through the text and answer this question (ответы детей после просмотра текста)

У: Now I want to ask you some questions about Great Britain. Please look at the blackboard, I suggest you to use the map of the UK. (слайд №1)

• How many parts does the UK consist of?

• What is the capital of Great Britain?

• What nationalities live in GB?

Подведение миниитога:

У: So, make up three-four sentences about The UK. You can use this model on the blackboard

The UK consists of………(3 countries England, Scotland, Wales)

The capital of the UK ……(is London)

There are some nationalities……..(live in the UK)

They are…………..(the Scots, the Englishmen, The Welsh)

1. Формирование новых знаний

У: Now you can see 4 flags of different countries and where is the flag of GB? (слайд № 2)

Учащиеся показывают флаг ВБ на доске.

У: Can you tell me something about other flags?

Если ученики затрудняются в ответе, учитель называет страны, которым принадлежат остальные три флага.

У: England is the most important country in GB because it has the capital of GB – London. London is the capital of England too.

England is a big and very interesting country. Look at the picture and guess who this woman is? (слайд № 3).

Уч: Queen Elizabeth 2

У: Yes, she is the head of the UK and Northern Ireland. Her official residence is in the Buckingham Palace which is one of the most beautiful attractions for tourists. Great Britain has a lot of sights and mainly they are situated in England. Let’s look at some of them.

There are a lot of rivers in GB, but they are not very long. The Severn is the longest river, while the Thames is the deepest and most important one. You can see the picture of this river (слайд № 4).

Now look at this picture. Tell me, what is it? (слайд № 5).

Big Ben is the most beautiful sight in England. Listen to a poem about it and some interesting facts (рассказ ученика о часах и чтение стихотворения)

This is Big Ben
Big Ben is a clock
Day and night
With all its might
Big Ben, the clock
Says: tick – tock.(ученик читает стих)

1. Развитие навыков аудирования с выборочным пониманием информации.

Далее весь класс слушает рассказ другого ученика на английском языке о часах. После восприятия текста ученики переводят то, что поняли из услышанного.

Уч: It’s a clock in the tower and it is a big bell. You can hear it every hour.

People are allowed to get inside the Tower so that they can see the work of the clock. There is no lift and there are three hundred and forty steps (340).

У: Let’s look at another sight and listen to the information about it.

Уч: The Tower of London (слайд № 6)

It has a long history. In the past it was a fortress, a prison, a castle and a zoo.

It was built to protect the city from the enemies. There are a lot of ravens at this place.

There is a legend that without them the Tower will fall.

Nowadays this building is a very popular museum.

У: Another wonderful sight is Buckingham Palace. Look at it and listen to the pupil.

Уч: It’s the London home of the Queen.

Buckingham Palace was built for John, first Duke of Buckingham, between 1702 and 1705.

Changing the guards takes place there.

The palace is open to public.

У: You have listened to some facts about sights of England but also it has such interesting sights as The London Eye, Madame Tussaud’s museum, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square.

Other countries in GB also have places of interest. For example – Scotland. This country is famous for its national dress – kilt and national musical instrument – bagpipe. Look at them………..

1. Подведение итога урока. Выполнение теста с целью проверки полученных знаний.

So, it will take much time to learn all the interesting facts about the UK, because it is a wonderful country and lots of people try to visit it. You have known some information about England, Scotland, and Wales. Now I want you to do a small test. You must look at the questions on the slides and choose the correct answers. Please, do it in your copy-books.
