In the English language we have got three degrees of comparison: positive (положительная), comparative (сравнительная) and superlative (превосходная).
First let`s revise one and many of the two–syllable adjectives. (повторим прилагательные, состоящие из 1 и многие, состоящие из 2 слогов)
Positive (или положительная) degree – it`s a normal description.
Look: a bid globe.
Comparative (или сравнительная) we compare two things,
Look: A bigger globe. In this case we add suffix –er.
And finally, superlative (или превосходная): выделяется из группы предметов.
Look, this globe is the biggest. We add article the and suffix –est.
One more example:
A small globe, a smaller globe (suffix –er in our comparative degree) and the smallest globe (caмый маленький) the and suffix –est.

Comparative: we put more before the adjective.
