Hello, boys and girls! My name is Bobby.
And my name is Tobby. This is our friend Mobby.
Welcome to our lesson.
Today we have a guest.
It’s our friend Johnny.
Hi, everyone!
Yesterday we visited Johnny’s family.
There are eight members in his family, including Johnny.
That’s right! I have a mother, a father, a sister, two brothers, a grandmother and a grandfather.
They all live together.
And they are very kind and good people!
Today we would like to tell you about the events which happened in their lives.
And we also want to tell you how they felt after those events.
As you can understand today in the lesson we will:
talk about different feelings;
learn new words;
And
put the knowledge into practice.
First of all, look! This is Johnny’s family.
And as we’ve already said, there are eight members in his family:
This is Mrs. Cooper. She is Johnny’s mother.
This is Mr. Cooper. He is Johnny’s father.
This is Alice. She is Johnny’s sister.
This is Edward. He is Johnny’s younger brother.
This is Melvin. He is Johnny’s elder brother.
These are Mrs. Brown and Mr. Brown. They are Johnny’s grandparents.
And this is Johnny himself.
First of all, we will tell you about the events which happened to his mother.
Yesterday Mrs. Cooper went to work. There she met her boss and he told her that some very important documents had disappeared. After that he accused her of taking those documents. She tried to clear her name, but her boss didn’t believe her. That’s why Mrs. Cooper was sad yesterday.
Sad is translated as “грустный”.
Now listen to the story about Johnny’s father. Yesterday Mr. Cooper went to the park. He wanted to breathe fresh air and have a rest. In the park Mr. Cooper met his friend George. He was with his dog Rex. Mr. Cooper and his friend were talking, when suddenly Rex became mad and bit Mr. Cooper’s foot. George shouted at his dog, apologized and went away. After that Mr. Cooper looked down and saw a hole in his shoe. That’s why Mr. Cooper was angry yesterday.
Angry is translated as “злой”.
Now we will tell you the story about Johnny’s sister. Yesterday Alice went to school. She had six lessons. When the lessons were over, she went home. On the way home she saw a flock of crows. Alice was afraid of crows, that’s why she started running. Suddenly the birds flew after her. Alice was running all the way home. And the crows were flying after her. That’s why she was scared yesterday.
Scared is translated as “напуганный, испуганный”.
The fourth story is about Johnny’s younger brother. Yesterday Edward decided to visit the zoo. He wanted to look at the animals and take some pictures. When Edward came to the zoo, he saw a little sign saying “closed”. After that the boy went home. That’s why he was disappointed yesterday.
Disappointed is translated as “разочарованный”.
Now listen to the story about Johnny’s elder brother. Yesterday Melvin went to the museum with his teacher and classmates. There were lots of different pictures and sculptures. Melvin didn’t want to go there, because he thinks that museums are not interesting. That’s why he was bored yesterday.
Bored is translated as “скучающий”.
The following story is about Johnny’s grandmother. Yesterday when everyone left the house, Mrs. Brown started cleaning up. She swept the floor and washed the dishes. After that Mrs. Brown did the laundry and cooked dinner for everyone. That’s why she was tired yesterday.
Tired is translated as “усталый, утомлённый”.
Now we will tell you the story about Johnny’s grandfather. Yesterday Mr. Brown went fishing. The weather was cold and rainy, so he didn’t expect to catch any fish. But it was a lucky day for him. He caught lots of fish. That’s why he was happy yesterday.
Happy is translated as “счастливый”.
Guys, we forgot to tell you that Johnny also has a dog. Its name is Honey. And now we would like to tell you the story about this dog. Yesterday Johnny’s mother went to work and forgot to feed Honey. As a result, the dog spent the whole day without food. That’s why Honey was hungry yesterday.
Hungry is translated as “голодный”.
Guys, we’ve told you about the events which happened to each member of Johnny’s family.
We’ve also told you how they felt after those events.
Now let’s revise all the feelings once again.
Listen and repeat after me.

Scared
Disappointed

And
Hungry
Pay attention! If you want to describe your feelings in the past, you can use the following construction:
In the first place we put the subject. After that we need to use “was” or “were”. “Was” is used with the pronouns: I, he, she, it. And “were” is used with the pronouns: you, we, they. Then we need to put the word which describes the feelings.
