– Oh, you are absolutely right! The lesson starts in 10 minutes.

– Let’s run, boys!

– Hello, students!

– Hello, Mr. Reynolds!

– Sit down, please!

– Oh, okay. And what is the topic?

– The topic is “In a clothing store”. First, let’s start with Charlie and Frankie. Charlie will be a shop assistant. And Frankie will be a customer.

A clothing store

Магазин одежды

A shop assistant

Продавец, продавщица, продавец-консультант

A customer

Покупатель

– Mr. Reynolds, how should we start our conversation?

– Yeah! What phrases can we use?

– Oh, come on, boys! Don’t you remember the phrases that you usually use when you buy clothes in a clothing store?

– Mr. Reynolds, I always go to the clothing store with my mum. And she’s the one who speaks with a shop assistant.

– Yeah! I also go to the clothing store with my parents. And I never talk to a shop assistant.

– Oh, okay. Students, raise your hands if you know what phrases we can use when we buy clothes in a clothing store?

– Okay. That’s weird! Since no one knows these phrases, let’s learn them during our lesson.

– Sure, Mr. Reynolds!

So, today in the lesson we will:

● discuss what phrases we can use in a clothing store;

And

put the knowledge into practice.

Students, to begin a conversation in a clothing store, we can use the following phrases:

Can I help you?

May I help you?

Я могу вам помочь?

What would you like?

Что бы вы хотели?

I’m looking for…

Я ищу…

Look at the example:

– Good morning! Can I help you?

– Yes, please!

– What would you like?

– I’m looking for a new dress.

– Oh, okay. Let me help you with that!

– Sure!

To begin a conversation we can also use such phrases as:

Can you help me?

Вы не могли бы мне помочь?

What can I do for you?

Чем я могу вам помочь?

Where can I find…?

Где я могу найти…?

Excuse me, I can’t find the women’s section.

Извините, я не могу найти женский отдел.

Look at the example:

– Good afternoon! Could you help me?

– Yes, of course! What can I do for you?
