Great! Now listen to the fairy tale “Cinderella”.

Once upon a time there lived a kind and beautiful girl whose name was Cinderella. She lived with her cruel stepmother and her two stepsisters.

Cinderella was treated as a servant. The poor girl had to work hard all day long so the others could rest. It was she who had to wake up early each morning when it was still dark and cold to start the fire. It was she who cooked the meals and cleaned the house. Cinderella tried her best to make everyone happy.

One day an invitation to a royal ball arrived. The Prince was looking for a bride, and every young woman in the kingdom was invited - including Cinderella.

Her stepmother immediately ordered new dresses to be made for herself and two daughters. Cinderella worked days and nights to prepare them in time. When the dresses for Cinderella’s stepmother and stepsisters were done, the girl decided to make a dress for herself. Finally, it was ready.

On the day of the ball Cinderella came down the stairs in a dress she had made for herself. She looked really beautiful! When the stepmother and her daughters saw Cinderella, they got very angry. Then they tore up the girl’s dress and went to the ball without her.

Cinderella ran away to the garden to cry. Suddenly, a Fairy Godmother appeared in front of her and said:

“Don’t cry, Cinderella! I will send you to the ball!”

“But I don’t have a dress to wear!” – cried the girl.

After those words the Fairy Godmother waved her magic wand and at once Cinderella’s torn dress turned into a beautiful new ball dress. Then the girl looked at her feet and saw a pair of sparkling glass slippers.

After that the Fairy Godmother found a pumpkin, touched it with her magic wand and the pumpkin turned into a beautiful carriage. Then she found three mice, touched them with her magic wand and the mice turned into two black horses and a coachman.

When everything was ready, the Fairy Godmother said:

“Cinderella, there’s one thing that you must know!”

“What is it?”

“The magic will only last until midnight. You must reach home by then.”

“Oh, okay. Thank you so much for your help!”

“It’s my pleasure, Cinderella!”

Then the girl stepped into the carriage and set off for the ball.

When Cinderella entered the ballroom, the guests were struck by her beauty. And her stepmother and stepsisters didn’t recognize the girl.

Then the Prince asked Cinderella to dance, and she was really happy.

They danced all the evening until Cinderella noticed the clock approaching midnight, and she remembered her Godmother’s words.

“Oh, I’m so sorry, but I must go!” – said the girl and ran away from the ballroom.

As she ran down the steps of the palace, one of her glass slippers fell off, but Cinderella didn’t stop to pick it up.

The girl returned home just as the clock struck twelve. Her carriage turned back into a pumpkin, her horses and the coachman became mice, and she was wearing a torn dress once more.

Cinderella’s stepmother and stepsisters arrived home shortly afterwards. They were talking about a beautiful girl who had danced all night with the Prince.

The Prince had fallen in love with Cinderella the moment he saw her, but he didn’t even know her name. He picked up her glass slipper from the steps and declared:

“I will marry the girl whose foot fits the slipper.”

The Prince and his servants took the glass slipper to every house in the kingdom, but it didn’t fit any of the women who tried it on.

Cinderella’s stepsisters tried to place their large feet into the glass slipper, but the servant was afraid it might break.

When it was Cinderella’s turn, her stepmother wouldn’t let her try on the slipper, but the Prince said:

“Wait! Let her try it on!”

The slipper fit Cinderella’s foot perfectly, and the Prince realized that he had found the girl he was looking for.

After that they got married and lived happily ever after.
