Fast food is unhealthy (анализ + тренировочные упражнения)

Теорию про эссе на ЕГЭ мы подробно излагали в других видео, а сегодня представляем очередное практическое видео.

Прежде всего, напомним, что Ваше эссе по английскому языку должно осветить ВСЕ аспекты, изложенные в задании, а также должно быть написанным в соответствующем стиле (нейтральном). Оно должно логично делиться на 5 абзацев и соответствовать предложенному в задании плану.

Предположим, на экзамене перед Вами следующая задача:

Comment on the following statement:

Fast food is very popular and saves time for busy working people. However, many experts say that it’s not completely healthy.

What is your opinion? Do you agree with this statement?

Write 200–250 words.

Use the following plan:

·                   make an introduction (state the problem)

·                   express your personal opinion and give 2–3 reasons for your opinion

·                   express an opposing opinion and give 1–2 reasons for this opposing opinion

·                   explain why you don't agree with the opposing opinion

·                   make a conclusion restating your position

Make an introduction (state the problem)

Some people say that fast food is not that dangerous, whereas others say that it is better not to eat it at all.

Express your personal opinion and give 2–3 reasons for your opinion

I think that fast-food is not very bad for health if it is not eaten often. Firstly, I believe that if a person has a choice between staying hungry or eating fast food they should choose eating fast food, since to starve is more dangerous than to eat low quality food. Second, not all fast food is dangerous. One can always find something like salads or other things that are not fried or too spicy. People can also visit some fast food cafes where they do not use those things that are considered unhealthy like mayonnaise, palm oil and E-preservatives.

Express an opposing opinion and give 1–2 reasons for this opposing opinion

Other people say that if a person eats fast-food he will end up in a hospital. One should see the film "Supersize Me" where a person lived and ate in a McDonald’s for 30 days and how his health got worse every day.

Explain why you don't agree with the opposing opinion

I do not agree with this opinion. One should always remember that everything in this world has its purpose. Fast-food is not meant for daily consumption. If a person eats it once a month nothing bad will happen.

Make a conclusion restating your position

In conclusion, I would like to say that there are opposing views on this issue. At first sight fast food is unhealthy but in fact it is not that harmful to one's health and it saves a lot of time. Thus, I support the idea that fast food is a good option for busy working people.

Перед Вами готовое эссе на данное задание. Сосчитайте количество слов.

Итого: 260 слов.

Требуемый объём в эссе – 200–250 слов. Допустимо отклонение от заданного объёма на 10 %. То есть можно написать от 180 до 275 слов.

Если в выполненном задании 40 менее 180 слов, то задание проверке не подлежит и оценивается в 0 баллов. При превышении объёма более чем на 10 %, то есть если в задании 40 будет более 275 слов, проверке подлежит та часть работы, которая соответствует требуемому объёму.

Помним, что в первом абзаце мы должны перефразировать заголовок темы и указать на существование двух противоположных точек зрения на проблему.

Наша тема звучит следующим образом:

Fast food is very popular and saves time for busy working people. However, many experts say that it’s not completely healthy.

Выберите из предложенных вариантов первого абзаца те, которые соответствуют требованию.

1.                 Some people say that fast food is not that dangerous, whereas others say that it is better not to eat it at all.

2.                 Some people say that fast food is very popular with busy people, whereas others say that it is very unhealthy.

3.                 Some people say that keeping fit and doing regular exercise will help the fans of fast food to reduce the risk of different diseases.

5.                 Some people say that fast food is ideal for students and active people, whereas others say that you will finally end up in hospital if you don’t stop eating it.

6.                 Some people believe that fast food is not very bad and dangerous for your health.

Две противоположных точки зрения на проблему присутствуют в пунктах 1, 4, 5.

Проанализируйте и объясните, почему не подходят пункты 2, 3, 6?

В пункте 2 имеется недостаточное перефразирование темы – дублируются слова popular, busy people.

В пункте 3 имеется отклонение от темы, а в пункте 5 нет противоположной точки зрения.

Абзац 2. Собственная точка зрения и 2–3 аргумента в её поддержку.

Вот самые простые модели, как это можно сделать:

1.                 <Мнение>

2.                 <Аргумент>, because ...

3.                 <Аргумент>. That is why ...

4.                 <Аргумент>. For example, ...

Соотнесите предложения 2-го абзаца с пунктами плана.

1. б) I think that fast-food is not very bad for health if it is not eaten often.

2. в) Firstly, I believe that if a person has a choice between staying hungry or eating fast food they should choose eating fast food, since to starve is more dangerous than to eat low quality food.

3. а) Second, not all fast food is dangerous. One can always find something like salads or other things that are not fried or too spicy.

Выразите своё мнение по теме и приведите 2–3 аргумента в поддержку согласно схеме (вы можете использовать другие средства логической связи!):

Абзац 3. Противоположное мнение + 1–2 аргумента, подтверждающие это мнение.

Советуем изначально подумать о двух. А уж сколько в итоге написать, 1 или 2 – решите в процессе, исходя их получающегося размера Вашего эссе и фантазии.

При оспаривании аргументов Вы не должны повторять ничего из написанного во втором абзаце.

Выберите абзацы, которые могут быть написаны в эссе. Проанализируйте несоответствие остальных.

1.                 Other people say that fast food is bad for health and if a person eats fast-food every day he will end up in a hospital.

2.                 Other people say that it is better not to eat fast-food at all. It does not contain vitamins and nutrients. It has a lot of fat, calories and flavours, which leads to overweight.

3.                 Other people say that if a person eats fast-food he will end up in a hospital. One should see the film "Supersize Me" where a person lived and ate in a McDonald’s for 30 days and how his health got worse every day.

4.                 Other people say that fast-food is very popular and such cafes are opened in different places.

5.                 Other people say that there are many unhealthy things like mayonnaise, palm oil and E-preservatives in fast food, which cause overweight and heart diseases.

Корректными абзацами являются 2 и 3, т. к. в них изложено противоположное и аргументированное мнение.

В пункте один отсутствуют доводы, подтверждающие мнение.

Пункт 4 не соответствует содержанию, т. к. в этом абзаце вы должны высказать мнение о вреде фастфуда, а не о популярности ресторанов фастфуда.

Пункт 5 дублирует информацию, изложенную во 2-м абзаце, что, как правило, указывает на ограниченный словарный запас.

Абзац 4. Ваши контраргументы

В этом абзаце Вы должны объяснить, почему Вы не согласны с противоположным мнением.

При опровержении противоположных аргументов лучше всего предлагать пути их решения, а не доказывать их недееспособность.

Если Вы дали два аргумента в предыдущем абзаце, то и опровергнуть надо обязательно оба.

В нашем случае аргумент против был один.

I do not agree with this opinion. One should always remember that everything in this world has its purpose. Fast-food is not meant for daily consumption. If a person eats it once a month nothing bad will happen.

5. Заключение с подтверждением авторской позиции.

В заключении надо 1) суммировать всё, о чем говорилось в эссе и 2) выразить свою точку зрения. Помните – никакой новой информации!

Попробуйте написать заключение, используя эту схему:

1) In conclusion, I would like to say that there are opposing views on this issue….

2) Thus, I support the idea that …

In conclusion, I would like to say that there are opposing views on this issue. At first sight fast food is unhealthy but in fact it is not that harmful to one's health and it saves a lot of time. Thus, I support the idea that fast food is a good option for busy working people.
