I. Organization moment. 2 minutes

T: Good afternoon, children!

P: Good afternoon, teacher!

T: I’m glad to see you! How are you today?

P: We are fine, thank you.

T: Who is absent?

P:All are present

T:What date is it today?

P: Today is the 18th of January.

T:What is the day today ?

P:Today is the Monday.

T: What is the weather like today?

P: The weather is cold.

II. Warming up. 3 minutes

T: Children, I’ll give you some riddles and you will try to find the answer.

1) Five rooms but one door. What is it? (glove)

2) Clean, but not water,

White, but not snow,

Sweet, but not ice-cream. What is it? (sugar)

3) What do you find over head but under your hat. What is it? (hair)

P: 1. I woke up suddenly. My sister was asleep. I could hear my mother’s voice. She was shouting “quick! Get up!”. I could see smoke outside my room.

T: What happened with her?

T: What could she hear?

P: She could hear her mother’s voice.

T: Which picture do you choose for this story?

P: picture B.

T: Very good! Let’s continue. The second.

P: 2. I was skateboarding in the park when I fell. Everything went black. When I woke up, I didn’t know where I was. I couldn’t move my arm.

T: What happened with him?

T: What couldn’t he move?

P: He couldn’t his arm.

T: Which picture do you choose for this story?

P: picture A.

T: Good job! And the last story. Let’s read.

P: 3. I woke up at half past five. It was getting light so I got up. I went into the kitchen and made some breakfast, but I couldn’t eat it.

T: What happened with him?

T: What couldn’t he do?

P: He couldn’t eat.

T: And which picture do you choose for this story?

P: picture C.

T: Very nice! Now, look at the ex.3. Damir, read the task.

D: “Complete the sentences with could or couldn’t ”.

T: Children, do you understand this task?

P: Yes!

T: Ok, let’s do. Open your copy books and write down this task.
