Цели урока:

Образовательная 

  • Повторение лексического материала

  • Закрепление и применение изученного материала (использование модального глагола must )

Развивающая

  • Развитие мышления , внимания

  • Развитие произносительных навыков и навыков устной речи

Воспитательная

  • Помочь учащимся узнать о достопримечательностях Минска и уметь построить путь от одного объекта до другого

Оборудование: учебник, раздаточный материал, телевизор, карта Минска.

Тип урока: комбинированный

Ход урока

  1. Организационный момент

Good morning, children! What’s about the weather? What is the date today?

What is the day of the week?

Today are going to have an interesting lesson.

To find out the topic of the lesson, I suggest you to do the crossword. Look at the board. You can see a crossword . There are the names of different sights in it. I will tell you what you can do in this or that place, and you’ll try to guess the place 

  1. A place where you learn History

  2. A place where you watch plays (пьесы)

  3. A place where you buy books

  4. A place where you have lessons

  5. A place where you send cards

  6. A place where you can watch a film

  7. A place where you go , when you are ill

  8. A place where you keep your money $

  9. A place where you see clowns and acrobats

  10. A place where you go for a walk

Which word do we get? – Map of Minsk! – Right you are! The topic of our lesson is Minsk. We are going to speak about the capital of Belarus and revise some grammar rules.

Open your books p. 48. Listen to Nikita’s story about Minsk. Follow in the book. Listen two times and then do some exercises and answer my questions.


1. When was Minsk founded?

2. How many people live in Minsk?

3. When was the new railway station built?

4. What is the oldest place in Minsk?

5. What can you visit in the Troitskoye Suburb?

6. Which is the most beautiful theatre in Minsk?

7. What can children do in Gorky Park?

8. When do veterans go to Pobeda Square?


Complete and write the sentences about Minsk.

I want you to have a walk along Minsk. But before we have to remember safety rules. Read and match the rules to the pictures.


1. You must stop when the traffic lights are red.

2. You must cross the street when the traffic lights

are green.

3. You must look first left then right when you cross

the street.

4. You must cross the street in front of a tram, but behind

a bus.

5. You must wear a flicker when it’s dark.

6. You must wear a seatbelt in a car.

7. You mustn’t play on the road.

8. You mustn’t ride a bike on the road if you’re under

9. You mustn’t drive a car if you’re under 18.



Now you are ready to go. On the table and on the board you have the map of Minsk. Use your patterns to make a dialogue about walk along the city. Show on the map.


A : Excuse me! I’m at the Post office. How do I get to the ...?

B: It’s not far away. Look! Go ….
