T: The 1st part: The area now called Kazakhstan has a very long history. People lived here during the Stone Age, thousands of years ago. A Mongolian tribe, the A-Shono, created the first state in the area in the 6th century. In 766 the Qarluqs, a group of Turkic tribes, created a state in eastern Kazakhstan.
