Цель - обучение навыкам чтению и совершенствование коммуникативных навыков учащихся 9 кл. по теме "Asking the way".

Задачи - отработка ʌɛ в устной рече по теме "Asking the way"; Тренеровка диалогической речи по теме; Тренировка чтения по теме.

Ход урока.

I. Greeting.

How are you today, pupils? We'll speak about the places in the town and how to get to the post office, the bank, etc.

II. Warm-up.

(a) Read the words

[ a: ]   [ ai: ]    [ æ ]

park   behind   bank     after   library   traffic      department store  drink    cafe   

(b) Answer the questions:

Is there a cinema in your area?

Are there any shops there?

How many cafes are there in your area? etc.

III. Speaking.

Imagine you live in the town on the map Ex 1 p.92.

Your partner asks you for directions to various places on the map starting from the post office.

Example.

P1 - Excuse me, is there a book shop near here?

P2- Sure.. Go past the library and then turn left. It will be behing you

P1- Thanks for helping me

P2 - That's ok/any time/no problem

IV. Reading.

Read the dialoges and complete gaps 1-5 with the questions.

There are two questions that you don't need to use. (p.93№4).

V. Reading.

Choose the correct response to the statements. (p.93№7)

Make up your dialogue. You've been invited to a meal at Marco's Restaurant. You don't know how to get there ask a passerby for directions. (p.93 №9).
